On this week’s episode, we speak to a woman who’s leading environmental, social and governance (ESG) at Redefine Properties, one of South Africa’s biggest landlords and JSE-listed real-estate investment trusts.

ESG is a big part of the corporate world these days, not just for property companies but for all blue chips. It’s quite a broad sphere. However, with this being The Property Pod, we are zoning in on sustainability and green building.

Ursula Mpakanyane is head of ESG at Redefine. She joins us on the podcast as the group recently marked a major milestone around net-zero carbon certification for its buildings from the Green Building Council South Africa (GBCSA).

Mpakanyane shares insights on this achievement, gives an update on the group’s broader green building and ESG efforts, and share her views on women making it in the property industry and within a big corporate.
