Tobey Maguire's Ex Gets Emotional at Their Daughter's College Drop-Off

Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer’s daughter, Ruby, is now in college, and her mom is recovering from the drop-off experience.

The jewelry designer, 48, shared photos from summer via Instagram on Tuesday, September 2, including snaps of herself getting emotional after Ruby, 18, headed off to school, reportedly at Brown University.

“I love summer so much ✨I love my people (most of them not pictured),” Meyer wrote. “Here are a few photos that I love from the last two months. Turns out dropping your daughter off at college really makes you cry a lot, but she’s good so now I’m good 😉♥️🫶.”

In the pictures, Meyer could be seen crying in the back of a car, carting Ruby’s things across campus and organizing her daughter’s new dorm room. In a follow-up pic, she gave a thumbs up to the camera and, in another sweet snap, Meyer posed with her and Maguire’s son, Otis, 16.

“Omg the pic of you teary eyed dropping Ruby off 💔💔💔,” Katharine Foster commented on the post. Emmanuelle Chriqui added, “BEAUTY!!! Also allll the emotions! 🥰.”

Meyer shares Ruby and Otis with ex-husband Maguire, 50, whom she was married to for nearly a decade before they announced their split in 2016.

“After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple,” Maguire and Meyer said in a joint statement at the time. “As devoted parents, our first priority remains raising our children together with enduring love, respect and friendship.”

The pair have stood by that coparenting pact as they have supported each other and their children over the years. Most recently, Meyer celebrated Maguire’s milestone birthday with a touching post via Instagram in June.

“Happy happy 50th birthday to the greatest ex-husband, the greatest best friend, and the greatest dad ✨You are wonderful in every way and we all love you to the moon and back! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOBEY. ♥️✨💕,” she shared alongside throwback photos of their family.

The former couple was also seen celebrating Ruby’s high school graduation together as they posed with their daughter following the ceremony in May.

“Congratulations Ruby!!!!! ♥️ Graduate of our dreams. We are so proud of you in every way. We love love love love love you baby 🥰♥️,” Meyer captioned a carousel of pictures.

Meyer is currently engaged to Geoffrey Ogunlesi, the son of Nigerian billionaire lawyer and investment banker Adebayo Ogunlesi, whom she began dating in 2023. Maguire most recently dated model Tatiana Dieteman before the pair split in 2021.
