Don’t place your bets on Glen Powell and Olivia Jade Giannulli becoming Hollywood’s hot new couple.
“They are close friends and are not dating,” a source close to Giannulli, 25, exclusively shared with Us Weekly on Monday, September 8. “They have been friends for several years.”
According to the insider, the two stars met due to their individual connections to the hit show Full House, and have simply become good friends since.
“Glen is super close with John Stamos, who is close with [Olivia’s mom] Lori [Laughlin], and they are all family friends and run in the same circle,” the source explained. “Olivia isn’t dating at the moment and is enjoying the single life and having fun. She is now living in New York City and is enjoying new experiences.”
On Friday, September 5, Deux Moi got fans buzzing when the gossip account obtained photos of Powell, 36, and Giannulli dining at the restaurant Il Cantinori in New York City.
Loughlin, 61, and other unnamed individuals were also on hand for what appeared to be nothing but a friendly meal.
After dinner, Powell and Giannulli reportedly continued the fun and were spotted at the bar Treasure Club. (Us reached out to both parties at the time for comment.)
Giannulli’s outing with Powell comes after the social media personality split from Jacob Elordi following three years of dating.
“Things have been rocky between them all summer,” a source told Us in August. “Olivia moved to Paris to get away and have a fresh start for a bit. She needed a change of scenery.”
As for Powell, he was the subject of romance rumors after fans noticed a connection between the actor and his Anyone But You costar Sydney Sweeney in 2023. Both parties, however, have assured fans that it was just onscreen chemistry.
Relationships aside, both parties have a full schedule ahead as summer comes to an end.
Giannulli continues to be focused on lifestyle, beauty and fashion content across platforms like YouTube and Instagram.
As for Powell, he is gearing up for the premiere of his American sports comedy TV series, Chad Powers.
Before the show premieres on Hulu September 30, the actor got into the gameday spirit by enjoying College Football Saturday.
“One of the best parts about this crazy ride I’m on is that I get to live out my sports fantasy,” he wrote via Instagram on Sunday, September 7. “I was born and raised in Austin and college football is my family’s love language. I’ve been repping burnt orange since the day I was born and for me, College Game Day is as cool as it gets. … Thanks for having us, Columbus. Win or lose, nothing is better than a College Football Saturday.”
