Disney has released the teaser trailer for Zootopia 2, offering a first look at the long-awaited sequel to the 2016 animated hit. Scheduled for release on November 26, the film reunites audiences with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, now back on the beat for a brand-new case.
Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman return to voice Judy and Nick, respectively, as their characters dive into a fresh investigation that takes them deep into new regions of Zootopia. This time, the world of Zootopia expands to include reptiles and semi-aquatic animals.
Joining the voice cast is Ke Huy Quan, who plays Gary, a mysterious snake involved in the unfolding mystery. The trailer shows Judy, Nick, and Gary in a chase sequence through different city districts, pursued by Zootopia’s police force. Their escape brings them face-to-face with a hooded figure with glowing eyes.
New characters include Nibbles the beaver, voiced by Fortune Feimster, and Dr. Fuzzby, a cheerful quokka therapist voiced by Quinta Brunson. Shakira also reprises her role as Gazelle, promising fans a new song and updated choreography alongside her signature tiger backup dancers.
Zootopia 2 is directed and written by Jared Bush, one of the original writers of the first film. The original Zootopia was both a critical and commercial success, grossing over $1 billion worldwide and winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
