Busy Philipps Makes Red Carpet Debut With Soap Star Blake Berris

Busy Philipps has moved on after her divorce from Marc Silverstein, confirming her romance with soap star Blake Berris on the red carpet.

Philipps, 46, and Berris, 41, stepped out at the Daytime Emmy Awards in Pasadena, California, on Friday, October 17. The Dawson’s Creek alum looked radiant in a strapless red dress, while Berris opted for a crisp navy suit.

A rep for Philipps has since confirmed to People that the actress and Berris, who have not further addressed their connection, are dating. Us Weekly has reached out for comment.

Berris was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Daytime Drama Series during the ceremony, which he ultimately lost to Jonathan Jackson. (Berris is best known for his role as Nick Fallon on Days of Our Lives.)

Philipps’ romance with Berris is her first since her divorce. Philipps and Silverstein, 54, were married from 2007 to 2021, during which they welcomed children Birdie, 17, and Cricket, 11.

“It’s been a really long time that Marc and I have been separated, and our kids know, our families know, our friends know,” Philipps said on a May 2022 episode of her eponymous podcast. “Marc and I talked about it, and when we first separated [in 2021], we couldn’t even think about putting one of those statements out — it made us sick, both of us, truly ill. It’s a journey.”

She added at the time, “The surest way that Marc and I have been able to ensure the privacy of our kids that we love so f***ing much was by not involving the public.”

The following year, Philipps exclusively told Us Weekly that she was so “excited” about her next chapter.

“It’s actually been really, really nice. We’ve been able to travel a little bit,” Philipps told Us in August 2023 of her life as a single parent. “My kids have been enjoying relaxing and having kind of a very chill, chill summer.”

That same year, Philipps and Silverstein enrolled Birdie in boarding school in Switzerland at the teen’s request.

“This is one step in my kid growing up and … some people are, like, acting like I’m sending her to the moon, [but] like, I’m [still] gonna see her a lot,” she told Us. “So, it’ll be OK. I feel pretty good about it actually.”

Birdie’s new school life also adopted her relationship with Philipps.

“We have a really tight relationship and she’s very much like her mother in all kinds of ways and she’s super expressive, so it’s not as much of a typical teenager,” Philipps told Us in May 2024, giving an update on her firstborn. “She’s been in boarding school this year abroad [and] it’s a whole journey. It was not my choice. I mean, it was her choice, but I mean, I encouraged her to [spread her wings].”

She continued, “I think it’s really great for her to experience another culture and also it has freed our relationship up to being more about the fun things and less about ‘Clean your room,’ ‘Do your laundry,’ ‘Get out of bed’ [and] ‘Eat your vegetables.’ Now there’s someone else that’s doing that and so I just get kind of the fun stuff.”
