Emily Maynard's Daughter Ricki Wants Tips for Handling ‘Pregnancy Nose’

Emily Maynard’s daughter, Ricki Hendrick, is discovering all sorts of new things during her journey to motherhood.

Less than two weeks after announcing she is expecting her first baby, the 20-year-old shared a glimpse into what’s on her mind at this stage in her pregnancy.

“Where I’m at right now,” she wrote via her Instagram Story on Friday, September 5, after searching for “how to get rid of pregnancy nose.”

According to Healthline, pregnancy nose is a phenomenon some people experience during pregnancy. Some women may feel that their nose has increased in size or is wider than usual, particularly at the tip.

The symptom typically occurs in the final weeks of pregnancy and resolves a few weeks after one gives birth.

According to Ricki’s findings online, women can manage pregnancy nose by staying hydrated, using a humidifier and using nasal sprays or strips.

Ricki first announced on August 26 that she is pregnant. While sharing a sonogram photo via her Instagram Story, Ricki quoted Love Island USA’s Huda Mustafa, writing, “Netflix told me I’m not allowed to talk about it.”

In a separate post, Ricki shared a video of the baby moving.

“My heart is so full, yet my stomach is so empty because she hates all food,” she wrote via her Instagram Story. “I’m convinced.”

Fans met Ricki when her mom competed for Brad Womack’s heart on The Bachelor.

At the time, Emily, now 39, revealed she was previously engaged to Ricky Hendrick when he died in an airplane accident in 2004 at 24 years old. After his death, Emily discovered she was pregnant with her first child.

At age 19, Emily welcomed daughter Josephine Riddick Hendrick — whom she calls Ricki in honor of her late fiancé.

While appearing on the ABC reality show in 2011, Emily made it clear to Brad that Ricki was her No. 1 priority. While the pair ultimately got engaged at the end of the show, they split later that year. She went on to be the Bachelorette for season 8 and was briefly engaged to Jef Holm.

Although Emily has stepped away from reality TV, she still updates fans on her family life via social media. (She married Tyler Johnson in 2014 and has since welcomed five additional children.)

“My beautiful girl. I’ll always and forever have your back,” Emily previously wrote via Instagram when celebrating Ricki’s 19th birthday. “I love you and am so proud of the person you are. … You’re a gift to the world!”
