Gleb Savchenko ‘Focused’ on ‘DWTS’ With Hilaria Baldwin After Brooks Split

Gleb Savchenko has his eyes on the true Dancing With the Stars prize as he competes with Hilaria Baldwin this season.

“I love that Hilaria is bringing so much grace and class and so much all about the craft and all about the performance,” Gleb, 41, exclusively shared with Us Weekly on Wednesday, September 3. “And this is what this whole show is about. I love that we are ready to work hard.”

Hilaria, 41, added that she’s less focused on any past drama and more interested in dancing before season 34 premieres later this month.

“We love the dancing,” she explained to Us. “We have known each other, like, one week, but it’s made us best friends. We’re really sinking our teeth into doing it and having fun, because we have to dance on live television. … I feel like we stay focused on that.”

Last season, Gleb was partnered with Love Thy Nader star Brooks Nader. While competing, the pair developed a romantic relationship that resulted in a public split.

While Gleb acknowledges that his personal life can be part of the show, season 34 represents a brand-new start and a season of possibilities for him.

“This show has been such a big part of my life. I’ve been doing [this] for the last 14 years, and having so much support from the Dancing With the Stars family and from all my fans means so much,” he shared. “Being paired with Hilaria is just the dream come true. We can go out there, and I can teach you and we can dance and we have fun and just enjoy.”

Although rehearsals have just begun, Hilaria is more than impressed with Gleb’s teaching skills and patience with a beginner.

“He is very kind, very direct,” she shared. “I love that he’s very into the quality of the dancing, the basic action stuff. That I’m really excited to improve on. So I have my student hat on. I’m ready to be a good student.”

While the pair are staying mum on what week one has in store when the show premieres on September 16, Gleb is quick to remind Hilaria and viewers watching at home that the show is a marathon and not a sprint.

Although some weeks are better than others, Gleb said the journey is what makes the show rewarding for so many contestants.

“We just need to stay very, very focused and just have the same vision,” Gleb explained. “What I love about our partnership is that we have the same goal to come out there and just leave it all in the dance floor.”
