It’s officially fashion season in New York City thanks to The Devil Wears Prada 2, which is now filming in the Big Apple. Anne Hathaway was spotted on Monday, July 21, shooting her first scenes as Andy Sachs for The Devil Wears Prada sequel and she upped her style game. The actress donned a denim maxi skirt, white tank top with a black vest and black sandals as she strolled the city. Two days later, Meryl Streep made her return as Runway’s editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly. While filming on Wednesday, July 23, Streep was photographed in a purple blouse, copper Gabriela Hearst manuela skirt and matching heels with a camel-colored trench coat. Of course, in keeping with her 2006 character’s iconic style, she donned oversized Jimmy Choo sunglasses and a Briony Raymond diamond ring. The original film followed recent graduate and aspiring journalist Andy after she became an assistant to Runway’s fierce and cutthroat editor-in-chief Miranda. While a job in fashion wasn’t her dream, she soon became Miranda’s rising star while managing the fashion mogul’s unique requests and needs. The last time fans saw them together, Andy had quit her job as Miranda’s assistant. The story line for the sequel, which is being directed by OG director David Frankel, has been kept under wraps — including why the pair have crossed paths again. Hathaway reprised her role as Andy during day one of shooting on July 21, wearing black Samo Sun sunglasses.

Hathaway changed her ensemble on day one of filming, trading in her casual look for a bolder, brighter statement frock. The second ensemble included a stained-glass-inspired maxi dress by Gabriela Hearst and a Shebobo Kate bucket hat.

The star layered a Jemma Wynne forme emerald-cut diamond toggle pendant necklace with a Marlo Laz squash blossom choker to top off the look. She was also photographed with a suitcase, carry-on bag and wardrobe bag while taking a phone call.

Andy’s cast chair a.k.a. the seating area for Hathaway between takes was posted up on the sidewalk on July 21.

Hathaway looked cool and collected on July 21 while wearing a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier pinstripe pant and vest combo with black boots and matching carrier bag. She finished the look with a Jemma Wynne forme emerald-cut diamond toggle pendant necklace and Natasha Schweitzer triple orielle ring.

According to the movie slate, scene 78 was part of the shooting schedule for day one.

Hathaway transformed her look once again on July 21, wearing a Re/Done x Ford Mechanic denim jumpsuit with floral patches for a different scene and carrying a Valentino Garavani Panthea bag.

Hathaway returned to set on July 22 rocking a chic grey blazer with a black undershirt and sleek belt. She wore a matching pair of grey pinstripe pants and brought back the Jemma Wynne pendant necklace as she dodged traffic and waded through crowds.

Streep stepped on set for the first time on July 23. She donned Miranda’s iconic white pixie cut while hitting the streets of NYC. The actress wore the same look during filming on July 24, which included a Briony Raymond slim sloan diamond ring.

Hathaway returned to set on July 25, wearing multiple looks. In one of the actress’ scenes, she sported baggy jeans, snakeskin boots, a brown blazer and blue-printed silk neck scarf by Sabina Savage. She also carried a Valentino Garavani Nellcôte bag and wore a Marlo Laz squash blossom choker and Marlo Laz diamond protection ring.

In a separate scene from July 25, Hathaway donned all white, including white jeans, a white T-shirt with a long train and white heels. Her fashionable jewels included a Jemma Wynne emerald cut diamond open ring and a Jemma Wynne toujours diamond ear cuff.

Streep oozed elegance and class with her July 25 wardrobe. She wore a crisp white blouse, black pants and nude trench coat and red pumps with nude-colored sunglasses. Her jewels included a Briony Raymond ring, jumbo sloan dome earrings, and jumbo cobalt chain from the designer.

Hathaway and Streep were spotted back together in character on July 25. In the scene, Streep’s Miranda is stopped by Andy while heading to a taxi outside a big building in New York.

Stanley Tucci was spotted filming with Streep on July 28, confirming his return as Nigel Kipling, Runway’s art director and Miranda’s close confidant. He walked down the street wearing a tan suit beside Streep, who wore an all-gray ensemble. 

Tracie Thoms and Hathaway were spotted filming together in New York City on August 5. Thoms rocked jeans and a colorful kimono. Hathaway kept it chic in a white button-up and teal cargo skirt with matching pumps. Both women rocked sunglasses on the bright day. 

Hathaway was spotted filming with Patrick Brammall, who is reportedly playing her character’s new love interest, on August 5. The pair appeared to be dressed for a date night, with Hathaway looking elegant in a shimmery blue dress, matching heels and a silver handbag and Brammall coordinating with his leading lady in a navy blue suit. They were photographed dancing through the streets of Brooklyn, laughing together and gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes.

Hathaway was spotted dashing down the streets of NYC in high heels and a skirt on August 8. The moment was reminiscent of the original film, where Andy dashes around the city to complete errands for boss Miranda 

Blunt was spotted sporting a chic blonde bob while filming on August 14.
