Jennifer Lawrence found her other half in Cooke Maroney when they initially met through a close friend.
The pair, who started dating in June 2018, were introduced to each other through mutual pal Laura Simpson, and it wasn’t long before things escalated.
“Things between them are very serious,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in January 2019 about the actress and the art gallerist.
The following month, Us confirmed that the duo were engaged after the Hunger Games star was spotted wearing a large diamond ring. Leading up to their wedding day, Lawrence opened up about how her bond with Maroney continued to grow.
“He’s the greatest human being I’ve ever met. He really is, and he gets better,” the Silver Linings Playbook star said during an episode of “Naked with Catt Sadler” in June 2019.
Four months later, Us confirmed that the twosome had tied the knot in a small ceremony in Rhode Island. Although Lawrence has preferred to keep her relationship private, she later detailed how the coronavirus pandemic allowed her to spend some quality time with Maroney.
“I am actually a complete homebody and the laziest person who’s ever lived. Like, Cooke’s biggest joke with me, he’s like, ‘Oh, you want to go directly back to the apartment, babe?’ Or like, ‘Oh no, you have to stay in bed again today,'” the Joy star joked on Dear Media’s “Absolutely Not With Heather McMahan” podcast in October 2020.

Us confirmed that the couple were officially dating.
“Cooke plays very coy when speaking about her to his friends and colleagues,” a source told Us at the time. “He is clearly smitten about her.”
In the months leading up to their nuptials, a source revealed that the duo wanted "the wedding to be simple and sophisticated." The insider added in June 2019 that their wedding day wouldn't "be an over-the-top celebration."
During an interview with Heather McMahan, Lawrence said that her husband "knows the drill" when it comes to her still having sleepovers with her best friend.
"My friend came over and it was not planned, but she ended up spending the night and we slept in my bed and my husband slept in our guest room," she shared in October 2020.
During an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, the Don't Look Up star proclaimed that she "just had a ton of sex" during her two-year break from the spotlight. The pregnant actress clarified that she was joking, but she enjoyed her time at home with her husband.
During a Vogue cover story, Lawrence revealed that the couple named their son, Cy, after Cy Twombly, one of Maroney’s favorite artists.
“The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over,” she gushed. “Like, ‘Now is day one of my life.’ I just stared. I was just so in love. I also fell in love with all babies everywhere. Newborns are just so amazing. They’re these pink, swollen, fragile little survivors. Now I love all babies. Now I hear a baby crying in a restaurant and I’m like, ‘Awwww, preciousssss.’”
The Causeway star also opened up about suffering two miscarriages in the past, one in her early 20s and one while filming 2021’s Don’t Look Up. While slamming the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe v. Wade, the actress reflected on having a D&C to remove tissue from her uterus following her second miscarriage.
“I remember a million times thinking about it while I was pregnant. Thinking about the things that were happening to my body. And I had a great pregnancy," she said. "I had a very fortunate pregnancy. But every single second of my life was different. And it would occur to me sometimes: ‘What if I was forced to do this?’”
Lawrence reflected on feeling uncertain about marriage before she and Maroney tied the knot, telling The New York Times that she almost didn't make it down the aisle. "When you don't fully know yourself, you have no idea where to put yourself," she said. "And then I met my husband, and he was like, 'Put yourself here.' I was like, 'That feels right, but what if it's not?'"
The Causeway star continued: "When I'm home with my husband making this family, I'm so happy I stayed. I'm so happy I didn't freak out and cancel the wedding and run away and go, 'I'll never be taken down!'"
"They're thinking about having another child," a source exclusively told Us. "At first they weren't sure if they wanted another one because it's so much work, but they're obsessed with Cy and love showing off videos to their friends and family. They've started warming up to the possibility of a second."
Lawrence’s rep confirmed she’s expecting her second child to Vogue on October 20 after she stepped out to dinner with Maroney in Los Angeles with a baby bump visible.
