Jennifer Lawrence sure knows how to entertain a crowd in movie theaters — and on the red carpet! From puking in front of Miley Cyrus to photobombing Taylor Swift, leave it to the Oscar winner to make headlines for her many outrageous moments and equally entertaining quotes.
The X-Men: Dark Phoenix star, who got engaged to Cooke Maroney in February 2019, wasn’t afraid to open up about the difficult parts of planning her wedding.
“Yesterday was my only bridezilla moment where I cried because I thought I didn’t want to have a bachelorette party, then last minute I decided I did,” Lawrence mentioned during an episode of the “Naked with Catt Sadler” podcast in June 2019. “Then nobody was available because it was last minute. Then I started crying. I was like, ‘I don’t even know why I’m crying. I didn’t know that I wanted a bachelorette party. I guess I just feel pathetic.’”

Jennifer Lawrence’s Most Outrageous Moments and Quotes
Jennifer Lawrence sure knows how to entertain a crowd in movie theaters — and on the red carpet! From puking in front of Miley Cyrus to photobombing Taylor Swift, leave it to the Oscar winner to make headlines for her many outrageous moments and equally entertaining quotes. During her “Absolutely Not” interview with podcast host Heather McMahan, Lawrence admitted that she still has sleepovers with her best friend and that her husband "knows the drill" by now.
"My friend came over and it was not planned, but she ended up spending the night and we slept in my bed and my husband slept in our guest room," she shared in October 2020.
Lawrence managed to keep the details of her October 2019 wedding to art gallerist Cooke Maroney out of the spotlight. A source told Us Weekly that the movie star did not want “an over-the-top celebration,” although her guest list — which included Adele, Kris Jenner, Nicole Richie, Cameron Diaz and Ashley Olsen — was quite a spectacle in itself.
Lawrence and her longtime friend Adele played a game of “Musical Shots” at a New York City gay bar in March 2019, a source told Us at the time. During the night out, the actress “was having a blast doing the Macarena while dancing to Kylie Minogue’s ’Love at First Sight,’” the source added.
The Dark Phoenix star wore a Dolce & Gabbana brocade bustier dress with a pizza stain to a Kentucky Derby event in Louisville, Kentucky, in April 2018 … but shrewdly held her clutch in front of the unsightly mark while posing on the red carpet.
Lawrence made headlines in March 2018 when she called reality star Lala Kent an unkind word on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. While reflecting on Kent’s Vanderpump Rules relationships, the actress said, “I’m like, ’Bitch, you’s a c—nt.”
During the same WWHL appearance, the Oscar winner shot down rumors she was dating Brad Pitt. “No, I’ve met him once in like 2013, so it was very random,” she said. “But, I also wasn’t like, in a huge hurry to debunk it!”
J. Law made another legendary Oscars appearance in March 2018. The actress was photographed lifting the skirt of her long metallic Dior gown to step over a chair while clutching a glass of Francis Ford Coppola wine inside the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
"I'm way too annoying because I get on red carpets and I'm really hyper," Lawrence told Marie Claire in June 2014. "Most likely because I've been drinking, and I can't not photobomb somebody if it's a good opportunity. ... But it's something I always tell myself: 'You need to calm the f-–k down. You don't want to constantly be a GIF.'"
Lawrence had so much fun at the 86th Academy Awards — that she puked at an afterparty! "There's this big fancy party, this Guy Oseary and Madonna party — if you get invited you're, like, super important," she explained to Seth Meyers in May 2014. "And I puked on his porch. I was in such bad condition and I look behind me and Miley Cyrus is looking at me like, 'Get it together!'"
Lawrence jokingly pretended to steal Lupita Nyong'o's Best Supporting Actress trophy at the 2014 Academy Awards after the American Hustle nominee lost to the 12 Years a Slave star.
Not again! Lawrence fell for the second year in a row at the Oscars. While walking the red carpet, the actress tripped over a cone and face-planted into a woman walking in front of her. She tried to save herself, but slowly slid down to her knees in her gorgeous red Dior gown.
Landing on her shoulders! The star's best friend Laura Simpson wrote an extensive blog post of her experience at the 2014 Oscars, including J. Law's notorious red carpet tumble. "We finally arrive at the red carpet and as we exit the car, my date eats s--t and uses my freshly done Lauren Conrad updo to break her fall," Simpson joked in her post. "The crowd goes wild. There are flashbulbs and people circling, yet no one asks if I need any help because unless you are famous at the Oscars, you are completely invisible."
Lawrence gave Us some tips on how she got red carpet ready for the Oscars in March 2014: It turned out that all she needed was some junk food. "I've got a Slim Jim and protein bar … and Pop Rocks," she told Us. "When I'm presenting, I'm going to pour them into my mouth," Lawrence joked of the Pop Rocks piled in her purse.
Beware of J. Law! Lawrence started off her 2014 awards show season by photobombing Taylor Swift at the Golden Globes. "I was going to come in and push you down the stairs," she told Swift on the red carpet. "I was like, 'She'll crack up. She would really love that.'"
LOL! Director David O. Russell told Us Lawrence wanted to work with "Batman" and not "Fatman" in American Hustle. "'I finally get to make out with Christian Bale and he's a really fat guy,'" he recalled her saying at the Australian Academy of Cinema & Television Arts Awards. (Bale's weight gain for the film was a striking contrast from his buff Dark Knight Rises physique in 2012.)
Wait, what? Lawrence looked gorgeous in another Dior sequined number at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in January 2014, but admitted the ensemble was a tad tight. "Now you can maybe look at my armpit vagina. All these cameras, it's horrible!" she joked.
No! No! No! Lawrence was the victim of a major Homeland spoiler at the SAG Awards. "Somebody has watched two seasons of Homeland twice, and I'm freaking out a little bit," Lawrence said while standing next to the show's star Damien Lewis. And in that moment, a reporter accidentally revealed his character's season 3 fate.
No hard feelings! Lawrence recalled a hilarious incident involving Jennifer Lopez while appearing on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon in May 2014. The actress and late-night host had conspired at the 2013 Met Gala to get J. Lo to dance with them and had a routine ready and everything. "I do it, he's gone, and it's just me looking at J. Lo, going, 'Dance with me!' She was like, 'I think I'm just gonna observe,'" Lawrence said. "You made me look like a freak in front of J. Lo! Do you know what that feels like?" Lopez later laughed off the encounter and said the floor was a little too crowded for her liking.
The Catching Fire actress revealed what really went down while catching some waves with costar Josh Hutcherson in a Facebook Q&A. "That was the most fun part of Catching Fire," she told fans. "We could run into the ocean and pee together."
Lawrence, an aficionado of Slim Jims and Doritos, told Harper's Bazaar UK in its November 2013 issue that she does what she wants — especially when it comes to food. "If anybody even tries to whisper the word 'diet,' I'm like, 'You can go f--k yourself,'" she told the mag.
