It’s not hyperbole to say that this is one of Hulu‘s biggest weeks of the year.
The streamer has been promoting Alien: Earth all year, and that seems to have paid off with a No. 1 ranking on Hulu’s chart.
Alien: Earth is not only the most obvious choice for this week’s three popular Hulu movies and TV shows, but it may also be one of the best new series of the year.
Our remaining selections for the weekend include a very unique thriller and a female-led comedy that’s had a resurgence on Hulu.
‘Alien: Earth’ (2025)
Alien fans have been waiting for FX’s TV adaptation for five years, and Alien: Earth has lived up to the hype so far. Technically, this is a prequel to the first film, but you don’t need to be familiar with the movies to enjoy this show. Sydney Chandler leads the cast as Wendy, a terminally ill girl whose mind was transferred into an adult synthetic body.
Although Wendy was supposed to cut ties to her previous life, she’s got a personal connection to the investigation of a crashed starship. When Wendy and her fellow synthetic hybrids investigate, they come face-to-face with the Xenomorphs, the perfect intergalactic predator. If Wendy’s team can’t stop the infestation here, humanity may become an endangered species.

‘Sharp Corner’ (2025)
Next year during Oscar season, don’t be shocked if Ben Foster gets a Best Actor nomination for his role as Josh in Sharp Corner. On the surface, Josh has an ideal life with his wife, Rachel (Cobie Smulders) and their son, Max (William Kosovic), in a recently purchased dream home. Everything is perfect until a fatal car accident happens in front of the house due to the sharp corner turn nearby.
Josh is deeply affected by the accident, and even more so when additional accidents keep happening. Over time, Josh’s obsession with the accidents becomes so overpowering that he can’t focus on anything else. It may even cost him his career and the family that he loves.
Sharp Corner is streaming on Hulu.
‘The Other Woman’ (2014)
Game of Thrones and King & Conqueror star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau just can’t settle on one lover in The Other Woman. That’s why a better name for this movie would have been The Other Women. Cameron Diaz stars as Carly Whitten, the girlfriend of Mark King (Coster-Waldau). Carly is completely smitten with Mark until she learns that he’s already married to Kate King (Leslie Mann).
As Carly and Kate form an unexpected friendship, they learn that Mark is cheating on both of them with a swimsuit model named Amber, who is appropriately played by superstar model Kate Upton. Once Amber learns the truth about Mark, she eagerly joins Carly and Kate to make him pay for toying with their hearts.
