Jim Edmonds' Wife Calls Cops After Meghan King Allegedly Enters Couple's Home

Jim Edmonds’ wife, Kortnie Edmonds, called the police on his ex Meghan King after the Real Housewives of Orange County alum allegedly entered the couple’s home without permission, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

Us obtained a report from the Frontenac Police Department detailing the incident on May 1 at Jim’s home in Missouri. Jim’s wife, Kortnie, was listed as the person who called the police and as the “victim.” King, 40, was listed as the “subject” in the police paperwork, while Jim, 55, was listed as an “additional party.” The report said Kortnie planned to press charges. (Sources close to King disputed Kortnie’s characterizations of events.)

The report said that officers were called out to Jim’s home due to his “ex-wife” having been “to the residence several times throughout the day and was currently on scene causing a disturbance.”

While on the way, the officers were notified that the ex-wife was leaving the scene in a Jeep. The report said the police saw a Jeep matching the description and pulled it over.

King told police she was at the home to drop off clothes for her daughter. (King and Jim were married from October 2014 until Jim filed for divorce in October 2019. They hashed out a divorce deal in May 2021. The exes share an 8-year-old daughter, Aspen, and 7-year-old twins, Hart and Hayes. Jim married Kortnie in September 2022.)

“Meghan advised she had contacted her ex-husband, Jim Edmonds, earlier in the day to arrange the clothing drop off,” the report read. “Meghan contacted Jim’s current wife, Kortnie Edmonds.”

A source close to King told Us that she was en route to meet colleagues for an art event in St. Louis. The insider claimed Jim called Meghan to drop off their daughter’s communion dress.

The source told Us that King agreed and told Jim she needed to speak to their daughter when she got there. Kortnie was shocked and “visibly upset” to see King and told her to leave the dress and leave immediately, the source added.

The insider said King denied the request and explained she talked to Jim — who was not home when she arrived — about needing to talk to their daughter, which led to Kortnie calling the police.

The source said the police deescalated the situation quickly. King was not arrested or detained. “It was shocking to her that it happened in the first place,” the source told Us.

“She is over this back and forth. She thinks it’s ridiculous. It was a very simple interaction that didn’t need police,” the insider told Us. “Meghan is unfazed because she doesn’t want to escalate conflict. She just wants to take care of her family in peace.”

Kortnie gave the police a different story. She told the officers that Meghan showed up at the home around 5 p.m.

Kortnie told officers King “ran the doorbell multiple times.” She said she walked to the door to get her step-daughter’s dress that King was supposed to “leave at the doorstep.”

“Meghan refused to hand Kortnie the dress and ‘pulled away and asked to speak to’ [her daughter]. Kortnie told Meghan that [her daughter] wasn’t home and she was at a baseball game with Jim,” the report noted.

According to Kortnie, “Meghan became upset.” She said she asked Meghan to leave the dress and then closed the front door of the home.

“As Kortnie walked back towards her office, she heard Meghan inside the home yelling for [her daughter],” the report said. “Kortnie walked back to the front door and observed Meghan standing inside the house approximately 5 feet from the doorway.”

Kortnie allegedly told King to “get out of my house.”

“Meghan slowly walked back outside the residence, but wedged her foot in the door briefly so Kortnie couldn’t shut the door completely. After Meghan moved her foot, Kortnie closed the door,” the officer wrote as he summarized Kortnie’s side of things.

Kortnie initially said she did not want to press charges but later “called the police department to state she did want to press charges for harassment.”

Jim arrived at the scene and told officers he had surveillance footage of the encounter.

The report was forwarded to the Frontenac Municipal Prosecutor for consideration of charges. On August 12, the officer was notified by Prosecuting Attorney Keith Cheung that charges were “refused” and that the case was a civil/domestic dispute.

The police case was reclassified as “inactive.”

Us learned that Kortnie filed a restraining order against King following the incident.

On June 6, the parties agreed to a consent order where King would not come near Kortnie, they would stay 150 feet away from each other at activities for the children and King would not mention Kortnie on social media.

A source told Us that King agreed to a consent order to avoid prolonged litigation.

A rep for King tells Us, “The recent incident involving Meghan King has been mischaracterized. Meghan was simply attempting to drop off her daughter’s dress at the request of Jim Edmonds and in coordination regarding their child’s needs.”

“Meghan briefly called to her daughter from the doorway, never stepped inside, had the door slammed in her face, and calmly left her belongings on the porch. Upon leaving, she was unexpectedly blocked by multiple police vehicles and treated in a way that felt unnecessarily hostile,” the rep added.

“There is a long public record of police reports and [temporary restraining orders] in this matter that show Meghan is the one who has required protection — not the other way around. It should also be noted that Meghan has had primary responsibility for her children for some time now, with the other side’s involvement limited to select occasions,” the rep continued.”

The former RHOC star’s rep added, “Meghan recognizes she is not alone — many women post-relationship face turmoil and untruths, especially when financial resources already create a personal dynamic of an uneven playing field.

King’s rep also said, “There is video footage of this incident, and Meghan wishes it would be shared publicly to clarify the truth.”

“Meghan feels the situation is profoundly sad and will not comment further. Out of respect and protection for her children — who are old enough to read and understand what is said publicly — she chooses silence beyond this statement. Her only priority remains the well-being and stability of her kids,” the rep ended.

A rep for Jim and Kortnie tells Us, “We’re going to let the facts speak for themselves.”
