Kate Beckinsale is sharing an emotional moment with her elderly mother.

The actress, 51, took to Instagram on Wednesday, July 9, and posted a video of her serenading her mom, Judy Loe, in the hospital. She sang The Everly Brothers’ 1958 hit “Bye, Bye Love,” one of Loe’s childhood favorites.

“When my mum was 14, she was in a harmony group with her best friends Mary, Sylvia, (known as Fuzzy to this day because of an unfortunate perm decades ago) and Chris,” Beckinsale captioned the video. “Mary unfortunately is no longer with us but up until very recently even though they are in their now late 70s they would get together and still absolutely kill it.”

The Serendipity star continued, “I am a very poor substitute not being a very good singer but I want my mum’s dearest and oldest friends in her hospital room with her, so Fuz and Chris, please know I’m trying to keep the Four Teens going as best as I can from a distance.”

Beckinsale said she loved both women “and how much support and love you are sending and it is a mark of my mother’s extraordinary capacity for love and deep respect for relationship history that her friendships with her early school friends are still so very current. Love you all but most especially my mum.”

She concluded her caption by apologizing to “anybody in the hospital subject to my dreadful singing.”

Beckinsale’s fans flocked to the comment section with messages of support.

“You are a wonderful daughter 💖 I’m familiar with this pain. I’m so sorry 😪,” wrote one fan, while another remarked, “Your singing is beautiful and the tribute even more so. Sending love and tight hugs, Kate.”

While Beckinsale did not explain why Loe was hospitalized, late last year she revealed that her mom was battling stage 4 cancer.

In February, she posted heartfelt videos of her mom via social media and asked her followers for “a spare prayer or magic or miracle or sunbeam please send it to my mama, my most extraordinary, warrior, generous, humble, loving, unique, irreplaceable Mama. Thank you 🙏🏼 -Lord, keep her safe this night, secure from all her fears, may angels guard her while she sleeps till morning.light appears 🤍🤍🤍 amen.”

Earlier this month, Beckinsale reportedly revealed that she wasn’t doing very well after sharing bikini photos on Instagram. In a since-deleted post, a follower allegedly remarked, “Oh sweetheart, I honestly think you have a problem. You don’t look good. I think you honestly need help.”

Beckinsale is reported to have responded with, “Yes I do. I’m going through one of the most deeply painful times of my life. The body keeps the score.”

Beckinsale’s response referred to the bestselling book The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma by Bessel Van Der Kolk.
