If you’re a horror superfan, you’re well aware that the Conjuring franchise is coming to an end with The Conjuring: Last Rites, now in theaters.
If you loved the new film starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, you may be wondering where to get your chills next — especially as spooky season draws ever closer.
Not to worry — Watch With Us has chosen four horror films that serve as perfect viewing after the Last Rites credits begin to roll.
Check out our selections below.
‘Malignant’ (2021)
James Wan, the director of the original Conjuring movie that started it all, directs Annabelle actress Annabelle Wallis in this terrifying medical murder thriller. Wallis plays Madison, an adopted young woman who begins having visions of people being murdered, only to find that the murders are happening in real life — and that something inside her own body is the cause.
As Madison and her adopted sister Sydney (Maddie Hasson) seek answers, Madison begins to learn the dark truths about her own past. Malignant features some of the investigative, mystery-solving beats that make the Conjuring movies so gripping, and you’ll be hooked on Madison’s quest to regain control of her own mind.
Rent Malignant on Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV+.
‘The Autopsy of Jane Doe’ (2016)
Like Last Rites, this horror film features a parent and child team trying to solve a terrifying and deadly mystery together. Last Rites cowriter Ian B. Goldberg wrote the script for this indie horror flick, which stars Brian Cox and Emile Hirsch as a father and son coroner team charged with examining a mysterious Jane Doe’s bizarre death.
As some seriously disturbing things begin to happen in the morgue, father and son must solve the mystery of the unidentified corpse before it’s too late.

‘Nightmare Cinema’ (2018)
An anthology movie that tells several different horror stories, Nightmare Cinema stars Mickey Rourke as a sinister monster called The Projectionist, who calls five people to a theater to watch films that reveal something dark about their lives.
One of these mini-films, This Way to Egress, features Conjuring star Patrick Wilson, and another, Mashit, features demonic possession and Catholic themes that will resonate with fans of the Conjuring universe. For a fun grab bag of different horror styles, check out Nightmare Cinema.
Watch Nightmare Cinema on Pluto TV.
‘The Omen’ (1976)
This classic horror film starring Gregory Peck and directed by Richard Donner is one of the original stories of family life disrupted by demonic possession. Peck plays Robert Thorn, a father who replaces his stillborn son with an adopted child, Damien (Harvey Spencer Stephens), without the knowledge of his wife, Katherine (Lee Remick).
As Damien matures, it becomes clear that he is no ordinary child — and his Satanic origins pose a grave danger to the entire world. You may have seen the 2006 remake with Liev Schreiber. but we highly recommend the original. It’s still scary AF and will make you think twice about hiring a nanny.
You can rent The Omen on Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV+.
