Love Island USA’s Amaya Plans to Question Zak at Season 7 Reunion

The Love Island USA cast still has some time before the season 7 reunion, but winner Amaya Espinal is already thinking about the questions she plans to ask former flame Zak Srakaew.

“There’s a lot of things where I’m like, ‘What are you talking about, bro?’” Amaya, 25, exclusively told Us Weekly on Tuesday, July 15. “Like, somebody find this man a map because he is lost.”

Amaya elaborated on her plans for the reunion, adding, “It’s definitely to clear up any air that needs to be cleared up. Like, if things are a mess, baby, we are coming with a broom to get things all tidied up and just to address things that weren’t able to be addressed before. I feel like that’s the purpose of the reunion.”

She continued: “So I’m excited to see how the conversations are going to go. Because there’s a lot of things that people want to discuss, and I feel like we are all able to do that in a calm manner, hopefully.”

Peacock confirmed that the Love Island USA reunion will premiere on Monday, August 25, with Andy Cohen joining Ariana Madix as a cohost. According to a press release, the special “will feature this season’s winners, fan-favorite couples and this year’s bombshells for an up close and personal look back at their experience in the villa.”

Amaya and Zak, 29, have seemingly not reunited since she exited the villa after the finale. Before winning with partner Bryan Arenales, Amaya was coupled up with Zak until he turned on her at the Stand on Business challenge. In response, Amaya famously referred to him as an “extremely odd individual” before he was ultimately eliminated when she recoupled with Bryan.

Zak previously questioned Amaya’s connection with Bryan, 27, telling Us earlier this month, “Obviously, he stood up for that one conversation. But throughout the whole season, he not once mentioned he wanted to pull her for a chat, not once mentioned that he wanted to couple up with her or get to know her. So I was very confused when he was like, ‘Yeah, I wanna speak to Amaya.’”

Zak claimed he was “clueless” about just how serious Bryan and Amaya had become.

“Amaya, she’s a great girl. We have such good chemistry. But there’s certain things … when you just met somebody, and they expect the girlfriend treatment straight away — that’s the one thing I couldn’t give her. Behind the scenes, she’d always want, like, reassurance. She always wanted [to] kiss all the time. She would like me to, I don’t know, cuddle or whatever,” Zak told Us. “And I just didn’t give her that straight away. And I felt like she felt like I wasn’t being genuine toward her. I’m a not a slow burner, but I’ve been in long-term relationships all my life and I said to myself, next relationship, I’m going to go in it with how I feel and take it slow and just get to know that person a little bit better and start off as friends before I take anything serious.”

While speaking to Us in a joint interview with Amaya, Bryan acknowledged there were “some miscommunications” between Islanders.

“Hopefully that all clears up at the reunion. I think that’s the biggest thing,” Bryan said before naming Zak as the person he wants to address. “We were in the villa as Casa bros. Then there’s been some clips that I’ve seen that I definitely wanna address. We will probably address them before then just because that’s just the type of person I am. But we’ll see.”

Love Island USA is currently streaming on Peacock.
