Sydney Sweeney may have been at the center of controversy with her American Eagle ad but that didn’t stop her jacket and jeans from flying off the shelves.
The AE x Sydney Sweeney Cinched Waist Denim Jacket sold out in one day, American Eagle shared with Us Weekly, referring to the item featuring a “cinched waist that hugs your body just right.” The popular light wash design for $79.95 is no longer available.
Another piece that became a hot commodity amongst buyers was the AE x Sydney Sweeney Ultra Wide-Leg Jean, the Euphoria star’s custom Dreamy Drape style with 100 percent of proceeds benefiting the Crisis Text Line — selling out in only one week.
The medium-tinted indigo denims featuring a pink butterfly design on the back pocket (representing domestic violence awareness) were priced at $89.95 and gone in a flash after Sweeney, 27, modeled a pair. AE tells Us the style will be restocked this November.
Us has also learned that items in Sweeney’s curated “Syd’s Picks” shop have been refreshed four times already, with items performing four times better than AE’s other women’s items.
“In the six weeks since the campaign, AE dominated headlines, the brand has seen unprecedented conversation around the campaign, and in turn, record breaking sales, specifically tied to Sydney Sweeney’s custom styles and hand selected products,” AE tells Us in a statement. “Sydney Sweeney really does sell great jeans and we have the numbers to prove it!”
American Eagle launched their Fall ‘25 campaign, headlined by Sweeney on July 23.
The campaign, “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,” was deemed to be a celebration of what the brand does best: making customers look and feel good in AE Jeans.
“There is something so effortless about American Eagle – it’s the perfect balance of being put-together but still feeling like yourself,” Sweeney said in a press release. “Their commitment to creating pieces that make you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin is something that resonates with me. It’s rare to find a brand that grows with you, the way American Eagle has for generations. They have literally been there with me through every version of myself.”
The brand said they chose Sweeney to be the star of their “bold, playful” campaign because of her “girl next door charm and main character energy — paired with her ability to not take herself too seriously.”
