Taylor Swift is proving once again that “it’s nice to have a friend” as she enters her bridal era.
Swift, 35, was spotted in Nashville on Friday, August 29, according to photos shared via social media. The pop star donned a little black dress and sat at a private table with a group of women.
People reported that Swift was in Nashville for Brittany Mahomes‘ 30th birthday celebrations. Mahomes’ friends Lyndsay Bell and Cass Greinert revealed on Friday that they were whisking away the KC Current owner for a cowboy-themed getaway ahead of her milestone birthday on Sunday, August 31.
One day before the pre-birthday gathering, Swift returned to the Kansas City Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium for the first time since getting engaged. She attended the University of Cincinnati’s Thursday, August 28, football game against the University of Nebraska with her fiancé, Travis Kelce. (Kelce, 35, previously attended and played football at Cincinnati.)
Swift sashayed into the stadium, wearing a Balenciaga denim micro skirt with a Ralph Lauren sweater, suede knee-high Louis Vuitton boots and a baby blue Celine handbag. Swift’s stellar game day fashion, of course, was capped off by her dazzling engagement ring.
Kelce proposed to Swift earlier this month with an old mine brilliant cut diamond designed by Kindred Lubeck at Artifex Fine Jewelry.
“Travis is incredibly thoughtful. He had a clear vision of what he wanted,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly of Swift’s engagement ring. “He chose it almost entirely on his own. He knows her so well and what she likes — a timeless, classic, vintage touch.”
According to the insider, Kelce sought a bauble that would match Swift’s personal style.
“He considered everything about what she’d like and want,” the source told Us. “He paid attention to the jewelry she wears often for inspiration.”
Swift and Kelce announced their engagement via Instagram on Tuesday, August 26, weeks after Kelce actually proposed.
“Travis had these plans to do it, I think, on the next weekend before he took off for Brazil,” Travis’ father, Ed Kelce, said on the “The Jimmy & Nath Show With Emma” podcast, referring to the Chiefs season opener on September 6. “He was going to make a big production out of it. [He] wanted to make it really special.”
Ed continued, “I told him the same thing Scott told him, [which was] asking her is what’s going to make it special. That’s where you do it, you know what I mean? … Scott adds on, ‘Just get it done [and] don’t worry about any special date. You’re ready, you got the ring [and] go do it.’”
Travis ultimately chose to pop the question in a peony-filled garden in Missouri, near his home.
