Teen Mom’s Kailyn Lowry Claps Back at Parenting Critics in Honest TikTok

Kailyn Lowry is setting the record straight on a rumor surrounding her role as a mother.

“Y’all love to say that I don’t raise my kids,” Lowry, 33, said via TikTok on Saturday, September 6. “I have childcare. Yes, I have help from 8 to 4 Monday through Friday. These are traditional working hours. A lot of people put their kids in daycare from 9 to 5. A lot of people have babysitters that they pay for. I do the same thing.”

The former Teen Mom 2 star went on to clarify that she does not have a live-in nanny or an around-the-clock nanny.

“After 4, if I need a babysitter, I would have to pay for that,” she said. “If you guys could kindly stop discrediting what I do for my kids, that would be great.”

In her impromptu social media post, the “Coffee Convos” podcast host also acknowledged that she is ”blessed” to be able to access and afford in-home childcare.

“Not everyone can afford to have that, and so with that being said, I do have help no matter which way you cut it,” Lowry continued. “But if you could just stop discrediting what I do, that would be fantastic.”

Lowry shares Elliott, 15, with Jo Rivera, Lincoln, 11, with Javi Marroquin and Lux, 8, and Creed, 5, with Chris Lopez. The podcast host and Elijah Scott also welcomed Rio in 2022 and announced the birth of twins Verse and Valley in 2024.

The TikTok post came after Lowry saw a comment from a fan questioning how she raises so many children.

“I think she has help with the kids,” the user wrote.

While replying to the follower, Lowry also gave an update on her latest plastic surgery procedure. Without saying a word, she simply wrote on her video, “**20 days post opp**.”

In August, the former MTV reality star documented via Instagram a “farewell tour for the double chin” before going under the knife with Dr. Tina Ho.

“I’m getting my neck chopped off in two weeks so I’m, like, sort of waiting to get Botox until after that,” Lowry told podcast cohost Lindsie Chrisley on August 12. “I’m really excited to have a snatched jawline. What’s weird [is] when I sit up straight, I don’t really have a double chin, right? But it’s the angles that I always have a double chin. Sometimes I have three.”

Lowry has previously admitted to getting breast reduction surgery and undergoing a tummy tuck revision.
