Tom Schwartz and Lala Kent are attempting to pump the breaks on a wild rumor surrounding their friendship.
On the Monday, June 30, episode of PodcastOne’s “Detox Retox” podcast, the Vanderpump Rules alums decided to poke fun at the dating rumors surfacing online.
“What the f*** is going on?” Lala, 34, asked after reading a story that claimed she was living with Tom, 42, amid an unexpected romance. “They chose a photo of me pregnant so it looks like I’m also carrying your baby. I’m sweating.”
While Tom joked that it was a “hard launch,” he couldn’t believe how many close friends reached out to ask if it was true. Spoiler alert: They are just friends.
“I wake up today and the first thing I see from my dear friend is a text. ‘Hit me up! What’s up with you and Lala?’” Tom recalled. “And then I got another text from somebody else.”
Despite the pair’s long-standing friendship and reality TV history, Lala made it clear that she hasn’t thought about dating Tom or anyone in a long time.
“I haven’t thought about men in a romantic way in a very long time. Is that sad?” she asked. “I feel like it will come one day when it’s supposed to.”
While some listeners may not understand why she is still single, The Valley star explained that she is very content with her life.
“I could be fine by myself,” Lala continued. “This is just me being open to whatever the universe places me in. We’re going to know that’s where we are supposed to be.”
Tom replied, “And I love that about you. It’s empowering. It’s inspiring.”
Back in February, Us Weekly caught up with Tom and asked about his own dating life. At the time, the Bravo star said finding a special someone wasn’t high on his priority list.
“Honestly, I am not formally dating anyone, I am just hanging out,” he shared with Us at the L.A. Art Show Opening Night. “So there is not much to say about my love life.”

Tom was previously married to former Vanderpump Rules costar Katie Maloney. The duo tied the knot in 2016 and were married for six years before their divorce in 2022.
As for Lala, she was previously engaged to Randall Emmett, but they split in 2021. They continue to coparent their 4-year-old daughter, Ocean. (Lala is also the mother of daughter Sosa, 10 months, who was conceived via sperm donor.)
“We communicate through the app that our lawyers had us download,” Lala shared of her and Randall’s relationship on a February 2023 episode of Vanderpump Rules. “The app is really used for people in high-conflict custody cases. Text messages mean nothing so with the app it is authenticated.”
