The stylists behind Jenna Oretga’s transformation into Wednesday Addams shared a behind-the-scenes video detailing their process from start to finish.
The glam team broke down how they styled Ortega’s jet black tresses into her signature hairstyle for season 2 of Wednesday in a new TikTok video posted on Thursday, September 4.
First, they combed through the actress’ hair, making sure it was as sleek as could be before neatly braiding it. They also pinned down her curtain bangs to ensure that they stayed in place while filming. As she got her makeup done, the glam team applied a prosthetic scar to the back of Ortega’s part.
To make it look seamless, they used a black brush to add strands of hair to the prosthetic and gave the scar more dimension by applying fake blood to the center of it.
As a finishing touch, the team added fake staples to the prosthetic to make it look like it had been treated. Ortega’s glam also featured some faux cuts on her face, as well as more staples near her fringe.
“Jenna Ortega’s preparation as Wednesday in part 2,” the team captioned the post. Fans were quick to share that they missed the scar while watching the latest episodes, which were released via Netflix on Wednesday, September 3.
“Stop am i the only one who never noticed that behind the head 😭😭,” one wrote, while another shared, “If u watch back there’s very few clips on ep 5 where her head is in the frame and u see [the cuts].” A third commented, “Oh wow I didn’t even notice Wednesday had a wound.”
Wednesday was wounded after the season 2 part 1 finale, when Tyler “The Hyde” Galpin (Hunter Doohan) threw her out of a window. The final scene was a cliffhanger for part 2 of the season.
