Austen Kroll and Craig Conover’s appearance on Kristin Cavallari’s podcast tour was messy enough — but turns out there was at least one crucial scene that ended up getting cut from the show.
During the Tuesday, July 1, episode of the “Let’s Be Honest” podcast, Cavallari, 38, addressed Kroll, 38, and 36-year-old Conover’s onscreen meltdown.
“On the show, I went back and read our text messages [with Craig], and it didn’t make the show,” she revealed. “I think it didn’t make it because you can’t read someone else’s text messages unless they sign a release for it.”
Cavallari said the messages allowed for her side of the story to be told more, adding, “You kind of needed his end too to really get the gist of it. You get the gist of it from my end, but to really get the full meat and potatoes, you needed his end too.”
For those who haven’t had the chance to watch the last episodes of Cavallari’s Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour, the season finale showed the Boston show where Cavallari sat down with Kroll and Conover to address their history. The Southern Charm stars, however, weren’t thrilled with the topics they had to address — and Conover specifically freaked out when his relationship with now-ex-girlfriend Paige DeSorbo was brought up.
“I didn’t know it at the time, but I guess Craig’s team had asked my producers to not bring up Paige, which by the way, that is totally reasonable. That is a very normal ask. I told you guys last week on the podcast that I typically go into interviews and say, ‘I don’t want to talk about my ex-husband [Jay Cutler],’” Cavallari noted on Tuesday’s episode of her podcast. “There are definitely requests that you can make. That is not out of the ordinary. However, he never said anything to me, so I had no idea.”
Cavallari questioned how she was meant to host a conversation with Conover and not bring up the timeline of his relationship with her vs. DeSorbo, 32. (Conover and DeSorbo confirmed their split in late 2024.)
“He did not want me to ask about Paige. Of course I’m going to ask you about Paige. That’s the last time you and I saw each other. I want to know if you lied to me about her. What do you mean I’m not going to bring up Paige?” she continued. ”Imagine if Craig came out on my podcast tour and I said nothing about him being single or about what happened with him, me and Paige? I’m sorry, Craig, but come on.”
Cavallari questioned whether there was “a little part” of Conover that felt “guilty” about exploring a connection with her before he became official with DeSorbo.

“But that’s all I’m going to say. Craig, I will not read our text messages. I will not call you out any more than just saying you did lie to me,” Cavallari claimed on her podcast.
Conover, for his part, called the show “about the dumbest thing” he’s ever done. In the episode of the E! show, he was seen slamming the podcast and how “the whole thing was Paige.”
“That was crazy,” he added. “I was in a prison box.”
