Zach Bryan’s Ex Rose FaceTimes Brianna Chickenfry During Podcast Recording

Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia got a surprise call from Zach Bryan’s ex-wife, Rose Madden, while addressing her recent drama with the country singer.

“Oh, guess who’s FaceTiming me? Rose,” LaPaglia, 26, said during the Wednesday, July 16, “BFFs” podcast episode. “Obviously, can’t put that in [the podcast]. But I just want to say, through all of this, if I didn’t get to talk to Rose or have Rose through this, I think I would go f***ing crazy.”

LaPaglia, who had a public breakup from Bryan late last year, said Madden “helped” her so much throughout the split.

“Thank God a voice of reason,” LaPaglia added. “So, she rocks.”

Madden and Bryan married in July 2020 but called it quits the following year. Bryan went on to date Deb Peifer, from whom he split in May 2023. By July of that same year, Bryan and LaPaglia took their whirlwind romance public.

Bryan and LaPaglia were together for a year before he announced via Instagram Stories in October 2024 that they had split. LaPaglia claimed she was “blindsided” by the split, alleging that she was “emotionally abused” by Bryan during a bombshell “BFFs” podcast episode. (Us Weekly has reached out to Bryan’s team about these claims repeatedly, receiving no response.)

Earlier this week, Bryan took to Instagram Stories and posted screenshots of a lengthy text LaPaglia sent him after their split.

“I still have love for you and things would have ended a lot differently if it were up to me,” the text (which LaPaglia confirmed she sent on “BFFs”) read, in part. “I’ll choose to believe you didn’t mean all the things you said to me tonight, even if you did. I want to leave this with love and love only on my end.”

LaPaglia addressed this text during her podcast on Wednesday.

“He posted things, honestly, that just verified everything that I’ve said,” LaPaglia claimed. “I don’t know what he was trying to do by that. It’s not clocking to me.”

She added, “I’m just responding to him at this point, and I don’t even want to. Like, there’s nothing for me to say.”

A second screenshot Bryan posted included messages that appeared to confirm LaPaglia’s allegations that she was offered $12 million to sign an NDA about their breakup — and never speak about it publicly. A deal she declined.

“I thought the whole point was that they didn’t want that stuff to get confirmed,” LaPaglia’s cohost Josh Richards said. “I think at one point, it almost felt like they were painting a picture like you’re making up a lot of stuff. But then, just posting that just goes like, ‘All right it was real.’ But, for what?”
