When we close the book on 2025 in a few months, we’re going to look back at this year as a landmark for horror movies.
Several of this year’s biggest surprise hits have been horror films, including Sinners, Weapons and The Conjuring: Last Rites.
Of that trio, only Sinners is currently streaming. The other two are probably a few months away from hitting a streaming service as well.
In the meantime, the Watch With Us team has updated our picks for the must-watch horror movies to stream right now. Keep in mind that Talk to Me will only be on Netflix through the end of September. If you want to catch it before it goes, watch it soon.

The Monkey has four great performances by two actors who are playing twin brothers at two different points in their lives. Christian Convery portrays Hal and Bill Shelburn as children, while Theo James takes over the roles when the Shelburn brothers reach adulthood.
In this Stephen King adaptation, Hal and Bill discover a cursed wind-up monkey that murders someone whenever it’s used. The monkey doesn’t take requests for its victims and makes life a living hell for the brothers. Decades later, Bill tells Hal that the monkey has resurfaced in their childhood home, and it’s leaving a string of bodies in its wake. That forces Hal to confront his past and his strained relationship with Bill.

After returning to his hometown following the death of his father, Grady (Sam Jaeger), Blake and his family are attacked by a werewolf that injures him. It’s all Blake can do to keep Charlotte and Ginger out of the creature’s grasp even as his own transformation into a werewolf appears to be inevitable.

Talk to Me is an indie horror flick that finds some new ground in the genre. A group of young adults has come across an embalmed hand with a direct line to the spirit world. They also get an immense high if they let a spirit possess them within certain limits. Any possession lasting longer than 90 seconds can lead to some serious problems for the person holding the hand.
Mia (Sophie Wilde) knew all of that going in, and she still refused to break the connection when her best friend’s little brother, Riley (Joe Bird), asked for a chance with the hand. It was Mia’s only opportunity to reconcile with her late mother, but she may have doomed Riley to an early death or worse. Collectively, they broke the rules and there’s going to be hell to pay.

Reed, however, has other ideas for the two young women. Once they’re trapped in his house of horrors, he intends to give them an unwilling education about his religious views. And they may never get a chance to tell anyone what happened to them at his hands.

Jack Delroy (David Dastmalchian) would practically sell his soul for ratings in Late Night with the Devil, and in a way, he already has. In 1977, Jack is the host of his own talk show, and he’s got a very spooky Halloween theme going with some special guests, including a parapsychologist, June Ross-Mitchell (Laura Gordon), and her patient, Lilly D’Abo (Ingrid Torelli).
While Jack doesn’t necessarily believe in the idea that Lilly is possessed by something evil, she’ll eventually make a believer out of everyone. By exploiting her, Jack has unintentionally put the lives of his guests on the line and perhaps even his own. And this demon is just getting started.
Late Night with the Devil is streaming on Hulu.

The original Nosferatu was a silent film that shamelessly ripped off Dracula. Robert Eggers’ remake of Nosferatu plays up the connections even further with an even more unsettling take on Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgård), a vampire whose hideous true form doesn’t conform to the more popular romantic incarnations of the undead.
In the 19th century, Ellen Hutter (Lily-Rose Depp) inadvertently linked herself to Orlok when she was a child. Now that Ellen is an adult, Orlok fully intends to claim her as his own, regardless of her wishes or those of her husband, Thomas Hutter (Nicholas Hoult).
Orlok has a way of bending humans to his will, and Ellen’s mind and desires are an open book to him. Albin Eberhart von Franz (Willem Dafoe) may be Ellen’s only hope of escape, and even his knowledge may not be enough to thwart Orlok’s plans.
Nosferatu is streaming on Peacock.
