'Summer I Turned Pretty' Fans Make Fake Wedding Website for Jeremiah, Belly

The Summer I Turned Pretty fans mocked Belly and Jeremiah’s canceled nuptials with a wedding website.

Social media users took to The Knot to create a page for Belly (Lola Tung) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), who are fictional characters from the hit Prime Video series. In addition to filling out details about their special day, there was an update about how the wedding “didn’t happen” after all.

“My brother told her he loves her,” read the note at the top of the website. Fans took inspiration from the third and final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty, which is coming to an end on September 17.

Based on Han’s book trilogy, The Summer I Turned Pretty follows Belly as she is caught in a love triangle between Conrad (Chris Briney) and Jeremiah. In addition to the main trio, viewers have also learned more about Belly’s brother, Steven (Sean Kaufman), mom Laurel (Jackie Chung) and best friend Taylor (Rain Spencer).

Since the series is based on three booksThe Summer I Turned Pretty, It’s Not Summer Without You and We’ll Always Have Summer — that appeared to indicate that the show would only last three seasons. Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon and MGM Studios, previously hinted at plans for the series to expand.

“I will say stay tuned, but Jenny’s got some exciting surprises. So we’re thrilled about a season 3, and she’s got a vision for more,” he told Deadline in September 2023. “This show is going to continue to be a huge centerpiece for us, and we absolutely have plans to continue building it. Jenny’s got great vision for where she wants to go with all of it, but we’re already hard at work developing complementary pieces.”

Sanders has since walked back the idea of a possible spinoff.

“That was probably wishful thinking for me at the time, and Jenny has stayed really focused [on] getting these seasons right,” he shared with Deadline in July. “We’re pursuing new and different things with Jenny right now. She’s presented some other things that are related to this.”

Sanders added that he hoped to continue to collaborate with Han.

“So once the full season is launched, we’ll get into conversations, and we’ll ask her to pick from the many things that she’s surfaced,” he shared. “But we’ve moved away from those conversations.”

The Summer I Turned Pretty airs on Prime Video Wednesdays.
