Peacock was in dire need of a refresh for its movie lineup, and that’s exactly what it got at the beginning of September.
Even if Peacock only adds a handful of other titles this month, it finally has enough must-watch films to keep us busy.
For this weekend, the Watch With Us team has selected three great Peacock movies that you need to binge.
Our selections include one of the darkest comic-book-inspired films, a rip-roaring Western and an action comedy classic that’s turning 25 in December.
‘Brightburn’ (2019)
Director James Gunn had one of the hits of summer 2025 with his Superman reboot, but he tackled a similar story in 2019 that went in a very different direction. Gunn produced Brightburn, which was directed by David Yarovesky. And everything that made Superman into the world’s greatest hero goes horribly wrong here.
When he turns 12 years old, Brandon Breyer (Jackson A. Dunn) learns that he’s an alien from another world who was adopted by his loving parents, Tori (Elizabeth Banks) and Kyle Breyer (David Denman). This profoundly changes Brandon’s personality in disturbing ways. As he gains superhuman abilities, Brandon’s lack of humanity makes him incredibly dangerous to anyone who upsets him.

‘Django Unchained’ (2012)
Quentin Tarantino‘s first Western movie, Django Unchained, was also one of the director’s biggest hits. Jamie Foxx stars in the film as Django, a slave who is freed from his bonds by bounty hunter King Schultz (Christoph Waltz). In this pre-Civil War story, Schultz takes Django on as his apprentice and teaches him the tricks of his trade.
The only thing that Django really wants is to be reunited with his wife, Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), who is still a slave. Getting her away from plantation owner Calvin J. Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio) is going to be a challenge, especially since Candie’s right-hand-slave, Stephen (Samuel L. Jackson), may be able to expose King and Django before they can bargain for Broomhilda’s release.

‘Miss Congeniality’ (2000)
Twenty-five years ago, Sandra Bullock headlined one of her signature films, Miss Congeniality, as FBI agent Gracie Hart. After Gracie’s future with the Bureau comes into question, the Miss United States beauty pageant faces a credible domestic terrorism threat. Gracie suggests that an agent be placed in the pageant to help protect the event, but she didn’t expect to be chosen to fill that role herself.
Veteran actor Michael Caine costars as Victor Milling, a beauty pageant coach who has to get Gracie to let go of her tomboy ways and embrace a different persona for this assignment. Against the odds, Gracie does very well in the pageant, but it won’t matter if she can’t find the bomber before the attacker goes through with their threat.
