Amazon Prime Video is having a very good year for movies, especially when it comes to the films that Amazon doesn’t own itself.
Later this month, Warner Bros. is sending its surprise sleeper hit Companion to Prime Video, and it’s one of our favorites.
The Watch With Us team had to include that film in our roundup of the three Prime Video movies to watch in October 2025.
As ranked by IMDb, Companion comes in third. But that’s only because the other films on this list are even better.
3. ‘Companion’ (2025)
Iris (Sophie Thatcher) has had a charmed life ever since she met Josh (Jack Quaid) in Companion. Every day with him felt like a fairy tale and her love for him was boundless. Unfortunately for Iris, none that was real. She’s just an advanced android who can mimic human behavior that was programed to love and adore Josh. When he reveals the truth to her, it’s completely devastating.
Since Iris may not believe that living well is the best revenge, she’s out to get some payback from her duplicitous ex-boyfriend. Iris’ heart can break just as easily as any woman’s, but no other woman on Earth can reprogram herself to get payback on her ex.
Companion will stream on Prime Video on October 24.
2. ‘Being John Malkovich’ (1999)
Being John Malkovich is one of the most gleefully weird movies of the ’90s, and you can thank director Spike Jonze and screenwriter Charlie Kaufman for that. John Cusack stars as a hapless puppeteer, Craig Schwartz, who discovers a portal in his cramped office that leads directly into the mind of actor John Malkovich.
Since Craig no longer feels attracted to his wife, Lotte (Cameron Diaz), he uses the Malkovich portal to woo his indifferent coworker, Maxine Lund (Catherine Keener). Both Lotte and Craig enjoy being in Malkovich’s body while he becomes intimate with Maxine. However, Malkovich is rightfully suspicious about the trailer, and the movie gets even more bizarre as he investigates the portal himself.
Being John Malkovich is streaming on Prime Video.
1. ‘Casino Royale’ (2006)
After years of over-the-top gadgets and increasingly silly screenplays, Casino Royale convincingly brought the franchise back down to Earth while also introducing Daniel Craig, the man who went on to play Bond for 15 years before he relinquished the role.
This was the third adaptation of James Bond’s first adventure, and this is the one that took it seriously. Bond is still a young agent in this story when he’s ordered by MI6 to infiltrate a high-stakes poker game in order to get close to terrorist banker Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen). Keeping Bond honest is Eva Green as British Treasury agent Vesper Lynd. Vesper is the original Bond girl and arguably the best one in the modern era. Her secrets could destroy her and take Bond down as well.
Casino Royale is streaming on Prime Video.
