'And Just Like That' Series Finale: Date, Plot, Cast and How to Watch

And just like that … the Sex and the City universe is closing (again).

Showrunner Michael Patrick King announced this week that the finale of And Just Like That, the SATC follow-up series on HBO Max, would serve as its series finale.

If you’ve been following Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) on their mid-life adventures — or if you just want to see where they end up — Watch With Us has all the details on when and how to watch the finale.

How Many Episodes Are Left in ‘And Just Like That’?

What everyone believed to be the season 3 finale of And Just Like That, entitled “Better Than Sex,” aired on July 31 — but King revealed afterwards that two additional episodes were on the way that would wrap all the loose storylines up. “While I was writing the last episode of And Just Like That… season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys [CEO of HBO] and Sarah Aubrey [HBO’s Head of Originals], we decided to end the popular series this year with a two-part finale and extended the original series order from 10 episodes to 12.”

This means that fans can enjoy two more episodes of And Just Like That. The bad news is that there won’t be a season 4 of the show.

Who Will Appear in the ‘And Just Like That’ Series Finale?

In addition to Parker, Nixon and Davis, the following actors have played key characters in season 3 and will almost certainly appear in the finale:

  • Mario Cantone as Anthony Marentino
  • David Eigenberg as Steve Brady
  • Evan Handler as Harry Goldenblatt
  • Sarita Choudhury as Seema Patel
  • Cathy Ang as Lily Goldenblatt
  • Niall Cunningham as Brady Hobbes
  • Chris Jackson as Herbert Wexley
  • Nicole Ari Parker as Lisa Todd Wexley
  • Alexa Swinton as Rock Goldenblatt
  • John Corbett as Aidan Shaw
  • Dolly Wells as Joy
  • Mehcad Brooks as Marion Odin
  • Jonathan Cake as Duncan Reeves
  • Logan Marshall-Green as Adam
  • Sebastiano Pigazzi as Giuseppe

Will Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones Appear in the Series Finale of ‘And Just Like That’?

The ultimate surprise would be if Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), a fan-favorite character from the original series, appeared in the series finale, but that seems unlikely — she has only made one cameo in the series thus far, and it did not involve her being on set with any of her former SATC cast members.

What Will the ‘And Just Like That’ Finale Be About?

Several major plot threads will probably be wrapped up in the finale.

Miranda is dealing with her relationship with Joy, as well as the unexpected news that her son Brady has gotten a girl pregnant, much to her ex Steve’s chagrin. Charlotte’s husband Harry has just had prostate surgery, leaving her seeking spiritual guidance and comfort while her daughter Lily is reeling from a breakup. The whole family, including younger child Rock, has to figure out what their “new normal” will be.

Lisa and Herbert are figuring out how to juggle work, marriage and parenting in the wake of Herbert’s city government election loss. Anthony just moved in with his boyfriend Giuseppe. Seema has a new business and a new relationship with landscaper Adam.

As for Carrie, she just ended her relationship with Aidan after he revealed he does not trust her with other men. She also has a burgeoning romance with neighbor and fellow writer Duncan, and she’s working on her first-ever fiction book.
