Fans Think Taylor Swift Will Join Travel Kelce for Cincinnati Bearcats Game

Taylor Swift cemented herself as a football fan for life after accepting Travis Kelce’s proposal — but will she be rooting for the Cincinnati Bearcats alongside her fiancé?

Kelce, 35, is set to attend his alma mater’s season opener on Thursday, August 28, at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, and fans are convinced that Swift, 35, will be joining him.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end confirmed that he will “100 percent” be at the Bearcats game against the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers this week, noting on a July episode of the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast that was reposted on Monday, August 25, that the game is “right there,” meaning in his current home city ahead of the NFL football season.

Kelce then bet the cohosts of the podcast — who are playful rivals of him and brother Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast — that if Cincinnati wins, they must appear on “New Heights.”

“I’ve lost so many f***ing bets that I think I’m due for a win. I think my Bearcats are f***ing going to come through,” Travis declared. “You’re rocking a f***ing Cincinnati jersey. The whole getup too. Pants, the helmet.”

While Swift has yet to join Travis for a Cincinnati game since they began dating in summer 2023, fans think that their newly engaged status may change that. (She has been a fixture at Chiefs games for two years.)

The Grammy winner announced their impending nuptials via Instagram on Tuesday, August 26, in a joint post with Travis.

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨 ,” the pair captioned the post, which including photos of the garden proposal and the engagement ring.

The dynamite emoji was a nod to Swift and Travis’ initials, which together are “TNT.”

The caption, meanwhile, is a tribute to the musician’s song “So High School,” in which she sings about the feeling of falling in love with the football player and how he has transported her back to her teenage years.

The internet went wild after news broke of the engagement earlier this month and Travis’ college team got in on the congratulations almost instantly. (Travis played football at the University of Cincinnati from 2008 to 2012.)

The Bearcats shared an Instagram post with a fan holding a sign that read, “Taylor Swift Dates Bearcats!” and teased in the caption, “He’s gonna need a new sign,” hinting at the proposal.

The university later shared a picture of their football field with a giant billboard dedicated to the couple, joking, “Hey @killatrav no pressure but we can get you a GREAT deal on an historic, picturesque wedding venue 💒.”

The billboard featured two of Travis and Swift’s engagement photos and said, “Congratulations Travis & Taylor.”

In honor of game day itself, the team posted throwback photos of both Travis and Jason, 37, during their playing days for the Bearcats. Jason was on the Bearcats from 2006 to 2010, crossing over with his younger brother two years.
