Jessie J has canceled her U.S. tour dates and postponed several U.K. and European shows to undergo breast cancer surgery.
“So, as some of you may know, I just had breast cancer surgery eight weeks ago. Some of you may not, so that’s one thing,” the singer, 37, said in a video shared via Instagram on Thursday, August 28. “The second thing is, unfortunately, I have to have a second surgery, nothing too serious, but it has to be done before the end of the year, and unfortunately, that falls right in the middle of a tour that I had booked.”
Jessie (real name: Jessica Ellen Cornish) continued, “So I’m living in the moment. I’m embracing the moment, and I’m flowing with the vibes. So that is what it is, and I’m sorry. I feel frustrated and sad, but also it is what it is, and I need to be better. I need to be healed, and I know this is the right decision to make, so I’m postponing the tour till next year.”
Jessie revealed that several U.K. and European tour stops, including London, Amsterdam and more, were rescheduled from this fall to April 2026.
“Here comes the bad news,” she added. “I haven’t been able to finesse the U.S. dates yet, so unfortunately, that will be canceled. And obviously, I already had things that were booked [for] next year. There’s other tours. There’s other things happening. You know, no one knew this was going to happen. So please bear with us for the U.S. tour.”
Jessie told viewers that she’d still like to tour in the U.S., but it may be “later” in 2026.
“You guys know how much I want to do all of it, but I just can’t, and I have to be realistic,” she continued.
Jessie also teased that she has “so much new music” coming in the meantime.
“But as I said, I’m trying to be in the moment. I’m trying to do my best. I’m trying to compartmentalize all the different things that have [been] happening in my life and where I have to give the energy, but I have to heal. So forgive me. I’m sorry this sucks, but I know you guys probably knew this was coming,” she said.
Jessie concluded, “I love you all so much, and I’m so grateful [you’re] on this journey with me. I’m going to go before I cry my eyes out.”
Jessie announced her breast cancer diagnosis via Instagram in June. She told fans that she had received the news prior to the April 25 release of her song “No Secrets.”
“I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. I’m highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form but I’m holding onto the word early,” she told fans in a video. “I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period. I just wanted to be open and share it. One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories. I’m an open book.”
Jessie underwent a mastectomy to treat the disease, as well as breast reconstruction surgery.
“This post is some of the honest lows and highs of the last 48 hours,” she captioned a post-op post in June. “I will always show the good and hard bits of any journey I go through.”
