Glen Powell and Gigi Paris' Relationship Timeline: The Way They Were

Glen Powell and Gigi Paris were a picture-perfect couple for years before their split. “I’ve played a lot of womanizers and clueless a**holes, so I’m hoping there’s not a whole lot of common DNA between the characters I’ve played and me,” Powell told Glamour in 2019 before he started dating Paris. “Also, they’re movie characters. If they had a mature perspective on love, there would be no movie. But look, I’m single, so what do I know?" When asked what he was looking for in a partner, Powell noted he wanted someone who loves to get up and dance. “It’s a family rule to be the first people on the dance floor. My family will dance on the table at Christmas and Thanksgiving, and if the person I like is trying to behave and doesn’t dance with my family, they’re not going to fit in,” he told the magazine. He was single at the time of the interview, but things changed by early 2020 when he was spotted with Paris. Three years later, the pair called it quits. The twosome were linked after a vacation in Mexico.

They waited more than one year to make things Instagram official.

“Happy Birthday to my Wingwoman!!!🤘🏼🛩❤️‍🔥,” Powell captioned a pic of the pair via Instagram.

The couple made their red carpet debut at the Guggenheim International Gala.

“GP + GP,” he wrote alongside a snap with his love via Instagram. “Happy Valentines Day, Y’all!”

Paris attended Top Gun: Maverick premieres with her man in San Diego, Cannes, London and more.

Powell marked his love’s 30th birthday via Instagram.

“Wherever you are, the sun shines brighter. Every day is perfect because you’re in it,” he penned. “Welcome to 30 @msgigiparis.”

Paris was by Powell’s side at the premiere of Devotion.

“What an unforgettable evening celebrating @devotionmovie out in theaters November 23rd  @glenpowell I’m so proud of you & the rest of the crew!” she gushed via Instagram. “Love you all & this powerful film .”

Powell referred to Paris as his “wonderful” girlfriend during an interview with E! at the 2023 Golden Globes, where Top Gun: Maverick was nominated for Best Motion Picture — Drama.

Paris was spotted visiting Powell in Sydney, Australia, as he filmed Anyone But You with Sydney Sweeney.

The model broke her silence on her high-profile split from Powell — and how his movie with Sweeney played a role — during an episode of the "Too Much" podcast. While Paris didn't name either Powell or Sweeney she addressed the speculation around their relationship while they filmed 2023’s Anyone But You.

"It was just, this is what I have to do for my job. I had two options. I could either pretend like I was going along with everything and have everyone wonder, like, 'Are they hooking up? Are they not hooking up? Is she OK with this? What the f***?'" she recalled. "Or stand up for myself and say, 'No, I'm actually not OK with this, and I'm walking away.' So that's what I decided to do."

Paris recalled feeling "shattered" by the way things played out in the public eye.

"I just wanted respect, especially if it's gonna be public," she continued. "Like, don't make an ass out of me. Like, just don't make a fool out of someone you've been with for over three years talking about forever with. Just have some decency, you know?"

Paris continued: "And at the end of the day, it was like, well, work comes first. And if that's the case, power to you, that's your priority. I gotta walk away. What sucked was how it was handled. I felt like I was just fed to the dogs."

Powell broke his silence about his split from Paris during an interview with GQ, going on to weigh in on his ex’s June 2025 podcast claims about what transpired at the end of their relationship.

“I will always have nothing but love for her and respect for her,” he said on September 9, before revealing that he didn’t exactly agree with Paris believing his Anyone But You costar Sweeney factored into their breakup.

He explained, “Everybody’s always going to have their own narrative on things and all that. And she’s welcome to it.”

Powell continued, “Relationships are really hard. And when two people break up, they each go to their own brunch, and they will each tell their own narrative.”
