Hulk Hogan's Wife Sky Daily Denied He Was in a Coma Days Before His Death

Sky Daily shut down rumors that her husband, Hulk Hogan, was in a coma and near death just days before the professional wrestler died on Thursday, July 24.

Daily reportedly responded to a fan question about Hogan’s health via her Instagram Story on Friday, July 18, denying there was any validity to the claims.

“No, he’s definitely not in a coma!” she wrote at the time, according to PennLive. “His heart is strong, and there was never any lack of oxygen or brain damage. None of those rumors are true.”

Daily, who married Hogan in September 2023, explained that her spouse had been dealing with a few health issues recently.

“He’s been recovering from a major four-level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusin (ACDF), which is an intense surgery with a long and layered healing process,” she explained in the since-expired Instagram Story. “If you look it up, you’ll see what the last six weeks have involved … not just for his spine, but also for his vocal cords, and the eating/breathing tubes that are clamped over during surgery.”

Daily noted, “We’ve been in and out of the hospital to support that recovery.” (Us Weekly previously confirmed in June that Hogan was recovering from a “pretty serious heart surgery” and was “doing well afterward,” according to a source.)

She insisted on Friday, “So truly, there’s no need for the drama or panic some people try to stir up. He’s healing and we’re taking it one day at a time with love, strength, and patience.”

Less than one week later, Us confirmed that Hogan died on Thursday at the age of 71.

The Hogan Knows Best alum suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida, according to the Clearwater Police Department. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Hogan (real name Terry Gene Bollea) made his professional wrestling debut in August 1977 where he earned his “Hulk” nickname after noticing during a talk show with Incredible Hulk star Lou Ferrigno that he was taller than the actor and bodybuilder.

Hogan soon became a household name after becoming a big star on WWE. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and in 2020, the second time as a member of the New World Order wrestling group. He retired from the sport in 2012.

On a personal note, Hogan found love several times before his untimely death. Hulk married first wife Linda Hogan in 1983. The pair welcomed daughter Brooke Hogan and son Nick Hogan in 1988 and 1990, respectively.

Hulk and Linda, 65, announced their split in 2007 after more than 20 years of marriage. They finalized their divorce in 2009.

He was then married to Jennifer McDaniel from 2010 to 2021 before finding The One in Daily. Hulk proposed to Daily in July 2023, and they tied the knot that September.
