Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo‘s love story may have been a whirlwind — but their connection is undeniably strong.
The couple were introduced through Jinger’s sister Jessa Duggar and her husband, Ben Seewald, who met the former soccer star in Texas before he visited the Duggar family in Arkansas.
Jinger reflected on the early days of her spark with Vuolo in the pair’s 2021 memoir, The Hope We Hold, admitting that she “had never felt such a strong attraction to anyone.” However, Vuolo had a hard time winning over Jinger’s father, Jim Bob Duggar, who made his now-son-in-law complete a 50-page survey before dating his daughter.
“It was intense, but I was actually pretty eager to fill it out and say, ‘OK, look, this is a good opportunity for them to get to know me,” Vuolo told Us Weekly exclusively in April 2021. “It’s tough for Mr. Duggar, man. He’s got all these girls [and] all these guys hanging around. I think if I had all those girls, I’d probably come up with a document too.”
After gaining Jim Bob’s approval, the pair kicked off their courtship and announced their engagement in July 2016. Three months later, they were married.

Vuolo visited the Duggar family in Arkansas after befriending Jinger's brother-in-law Ben and eventually joined Jinger on a mission trip to Central America. Before he was able to officially begin courting his future wife, however, he needed the approval of Jim Bob.
"It’s tough for Mr. Duggar, man," Vuolo told Us in May 2021, reflecting on the "intense" 50-page questionnaire he was given by the patriarch. "He’s got all these girls [and] all these guys hanging around. I think if I had all those girls, I’d probably come up with a document too."
"We are so excited to take this next step in spending our lives together," the pair told Us in a statement after their New York City engagement. "We are so grateful for how the Lord has brought us together. It has been an incredible journey so far and we are excited about serving Christ together in the coming days."
Jim Bob told Us he was "so excited" for the "sweet couple" after they tied the knot in Arkansas. "Jinger is one of the most dynamic, beautiful, Godly girls that I know, and Jeremy is such a passionate, loving, kind spiritual leader. ... Match made in heaven," the proud father gushed.
"It’s been 1 year since the day we said 'I do'...it’s been the best year of my life!" the reality star gushed via Instagram alongside a wedding photo with her husband. "Jeremy, you have shown me such love that is too amazing for words. Whether we are talking, going on an adventure together, or simply doing everyday life together—I cherish every moment with you!"
Us exclusively confirmed that Felicity Nicole, the pair's first child, arrived on July 19. "Both mom and baby are healthy, doing great, and resting well. We are very thankful for her safe arrival and look forward to life as parents!" Vuolo said at the time.
The couple announced Jinger's second pregnancy via social media and joked that they'll "definitely have our hands full" with two kids. At the time, they also shared that Jinger previously suffered a miscarriage. In their May 2021 memoir, the pair called the loss their "greatest trial."
Baby No. 2 arrived shortly after Jinger opened up about her past miscarriage. The pair named their daughter Evangeline Jo because "Evangeline means good news and Jo is after Jeremy’s middle name, Joseph," Jinger explained via Instagram.
Jinger’s brother Josh Duggar was arrested in April 2021 and charged with receiving and possessing child pornography. The scandal resulted in TLC canceling Counting On two months later.
"We are grateful for TLC giving us the opportunity to be on their network over the years and their kindness towards the Vuolo family,” Jinger wrote in a joint statement with her husband following the decision. “It’s been a remarkable journey that has opened doors to traveling and experiencing the world in a way that we wouldn’t have imagined possible.”
The couple added: “We wholeheartedly agree with TLC’s decision not to renew Counting On and are excited for the next chapter in our lives. We’d like to thank our fans, friends and the amazing film crew who have shown us love and support. We look forward to continuing our creative journey in Los Angeles and seeing what the future holds.”
Josh was sentenced in May 2022 to 151 months in prison after pleading not guilty to the crimes.
Jinger detailed her relationship with Vuolo in her memoir, Becoming Free Indeed: My Story of Disentangling Faith From Fear, which was released at the start of 2023. “We didn't initially have my parents’ approval. They wanted to get to know Jeremy. His background and theology were different from ours, and that gave my parents pause,” the former TV personality wrote. “When they did approve and we began courting, we followed specific guidelines. We didn’t go on one-on-one dates. Our time together took place at one of our family’s homes, or we had a sibling tag along with us if we went shopping, to a restaurant, or went for a walk. We also didn’t hold hands until we were engaged or kiss until marriage. My parents encouraged us to follow these guidelines.”
She confessed that she “wasn’t yet convinced [she] wanted to marry” Vuolo when they were given permission to court, but once they began dating she changed her tune. “Marrying him was one of the best decisions I ever made,” Jinger added.
“Jer came on the scene and I think my hesitation was mainly because of him being outside of my world,” the TLC personality exclusively told Us Weekly of her courtship with her now-husband. “And that can be a fearful thing when you're in that culture.”
Vuolo’s “confidence” during his proposal helped put Jinger at ease and move forward with their relationship. “I remember coming back [from a date] and telling my mom, ‘I feel so safe with him. Like he is everything that I've ever wanted,’” she recalled. “He wasn't in our setting, which is just crazy to think about, but he loved God and he was committed to the word of God and lived his life according to it. And that's where I found, ‘OK, this guy is an awesome guy.’ It's exactly what I've wanted.”
"7 years of marriage! I love doing life with you @jeremy_vuolo 😘," Jinger captioned an anniversary tribute to her husband, who shared a sweet Instagram post of his own to mark the special occasion.
"Life with you only gets better and better. Happy seven years, @jingervuolo," Vuolo gushed in his caption.
The couple announced that Duggar is pregnant with their third baby. “We're super excited,” she shared in an interview with People, noting that she’s happy to not be pregnant during the summertime. “I'm actually all about it. Especially in the heat the past few days, I think I'm not super big pregnant and so I'm not having to worry about the extra heat. I'm like, 'Oh man, this is going to be such an awesome thing to go through pregnancy, not in the summer.'"
The couple announced that they welcomed their son Finnegan. “He’s Here! 💙,” the pair captioned a YouTube video at the time. “Finally...our baby boy has arrived!”
Jeremy reflected on the early days of their relationship in a July 2025 conversation with Lydia Plath and Zac Wyse on “The Jinger & Jeremy Podcast.”
“The setting Jinger grew up in … there was a very formulaic way of dating and it was called courtship,” he said. “And so there were strict rules.”
Though Jeremy admitted it “took a lot of getting used to,” he has no regrets.
“It was fine because obviously, I’m looking at my wife [and] going, ‘She’s worth it,'” he explained, adding he wanted to “be respectful” to Jinger’s family.
