John Mulaney and Olivia Munn were on hand to see Coco Gauff in action at the 2025 US Open, and they were hooked on every minute of the match.
The two were spotted hand in hand on their way into the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens on Tuesday, August 26, and the couple was all smiles — until the match started, when they both appeared tense as Gauff, 21, struggled to a win over Ajla Tomljanovic.
Mulaney, 43, and Munn, 45, received rousing ovations when their faces appeared on the stadium scoreboard during the first-round showdown. But as Gauff stumbled against the Australia-born pro, the two also seemed to be living and dying with every point. The official US Open account posted a video of Mulaney and Munn via X showing the visible tension on their faces as Gauff dropped the second set before coming back to win the third and advance.
Their US Open outing comes just over a year after their under-the-radar wedding on Long Island in July 2024. The couple’s son, Malcolm, now 3, was one of only two others in attendance at the quiet ceremony, which took place at a friend’s house.
The two then welcomed daughter Méi in September 2024 via surrogate.
Mulaney and Munn have been open about their relationship since Us Weekly confirmed they were dating in 2021. The two are frequently seen supporting each other, in public and on social media. When Munn revealed in 2024 that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy the year before, a source told Us that Mulaney was a “huge pillar of strength.”
“I’m so thankful to my friends and family for loving me through this. I’m so thankful to John for the nights he spent researching what every operation and medication meant and what side effects and recovery I could expect,” Munn wrote via social media at the time. “For being there before I went into each surgery and being there when I woke up, always placing framed photos of our little boy Malcolm so it would be the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes.”
Mulaney replied via Instagram, “Thank you for fighting so hard to be here for us. Malc and I adore you. ❤️”
On World Breast Cancer Research Day on August 18, 2025, Munn also shared a video of herself in her hospital bed shortly before being wheeled in for surgery. Mulaney sat on the bed with her, holding her hand and appearing to give her a few words of support. Munn said it was the first of five surgeries she underwent in her cancer battle.
