Liam Neeson’s sister-in-law Joely Richardson has nothing but kind things to say about his connection with Pamela Anderson.
“I think she’s magnificent,” Richardson, 60, told Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, September 3. “I think she’s a magnificent artist, and I think everything that she stands for is quite, quite wonderful and obviously I love my brother-in-law too.”
This isn’t the first time Richardson showed support for the pair. When Anderson, 58, shared a carousel of photos featuring Neeson, 73, via Instagram on August 1, Richardson dropped seven red heart emojis in the comments section.
Many praised Richardson for her show of support for the costars on social media.
“Classy and loving as always,” one person replied to Richardson’s comment at the time, while a second person wrote, “Very sweet of you.”
Neeson was married to Joely’s sister Natasha Richardson from 1994 until her death in 2009 when she suffered a head injury from a ski accident. He shared two sons with the late actress, Micheál, 30, and Daniel, 29.
Anderson and Neeson also got the stamp of approval from Natasha’s close friend Andy Cohen.
“Natasha was a dear friend of mine … all of the friends in this circle are very much excited [and] stanning whatever this is,” Cohen, 57, said during his SiriusXM show on July 30, revealing he told Neeson he was supportive of his relationship with Anderson during a premiere party for The Naked Gun. “I go, ‘Liam, she is an independent woman, just like Tash was. She loves to cook. She has her own thing going on. She has two boys. This just works.’”
Cohen called Anderson “a formidable human being” and praised her for how she “reclaimed herself and redefined herself.”
Anderson and Neeson’s relationship was on full display during their press tour for The Naked Gun, which began in July. The twosome brought their children to the New York City premiere of the film on July 28. (Anderson shares kids Brandon, 29, and Dylan, 27, with ex-husband Tommy Lee.) Their PDA-filled red carpet appearances continued throughout the month of August.
An insider told Us Weekly that their chemistry was undeniable while filming, but they both kept it professional on set.
“Feelings were definitely happening between them, [but] they both felt it was important not to blur any lines during production,” the source shared in August. “They started spending more time together [and getting] more personal … introducing their children and having dinners. They realized the connection went deeper.”
Despite reports that the relationship was a publicity stunt after the press tour ended, a source told Us last month that “everything between Pamela and Liam has been genuine.”
