Tell Me Lies costar couple Grace Van Patten and Jackson White went full glam for the 2025 Academy Museum Gala — and left little to the imagination in the process.
Van Patten, 28, and White, 29, jointly attended the Saturday, October 18, annual gala, both opting for all-black ensembles. While White looked dapper in his classic tux with matching bowtie, Van Patten took a major risk with her sheer gown.
Van Patten stunned in her off-the-shoulder frock, which she wore without a bra, to show off her curves. The actress completed her ensemble with a black choker necklace and a gold chain.
For glam, Van Patten wore a smoky eye, a rose-colored lip and styled her blonde tresses in loose waves.
Van Patten, of course, is no stranger to taking risks on the red carpet.
“I’ve always been interested in fashion. It’s something that I’m so fascinated by and love to watch people experiment with,” she previously told Fashionista in 2021. “I don’t know the technicality of fashion at all — I’m very visual with it. I feel like I don’t know any names of anything. I’m still learning, which is really fun. But, style for me is ever-changing, and there’s so much opportunity in it. My style has changed so much since I was little.”
Van Patten has been dating White, the son of actress Katey Sagal, since 2022 after playing onscreen love interests in Hulu’s Tell Me Lies.
“I didn’t like Jackson. We talk about this all the time,” Van Patten recalled of meeting White during her appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast earlier this month. “I had done a bunch of Zoom chemistry reads because it was still COVID. Jackson, I had heard, was the favorite [to get the role].”
She continued, “I’m excited for his thing. He gets on, and I’m like, ‘Oh, this is a serious, like, actor-y actor.’ So, I was just like, ‘Ugh, God.’ But he was so good.”
According to Van Patten, their dynamic shifted when they came face-to-face.
“It was a completely different energy. He just told me he was really nervous for the Zoom,” she told podcaster Alex Cooper. “I was so in the zone of the show and being so excited about doing it and finding the guy. My brain was very like Tell Me Lies and I kept thinking about him.”
Van Patten added, “We vibed instantly. It was that night we were both like, ‘We have a crush on each other. This is probably the worst thing that could happen.’ We sat on the stoop for I think like six hours and talked about every reason we should not act on this. Then, I kissed him.”
Van Patten and White recently wrapped the highly anticipated third season of Tell Me Lies.
“I can’t say too much but fans are in for a crazy ride this season!” she exclusively told Us Weekly in September. “I think it’s the messiest yet and it truly feels like the peak of all these characters’ worst decisions. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve been working on.”
