The makers of War 2released the trailer of the movie. The highly-anticipated pan-Indian movie, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani, is directed by Ayan Mukerji.
In the trailer, Hrithik Roshan essays Major Kabir Dhaliwal, a soldier haunted by his past. He is up against Jr NTR’s character, who is set to go to war with a do-or-die attitude. The trailer also gives a glimpse of the character essayed by Kiara Advani. Playing a fierce character, she is seen in slick action sequences.
The trailer hints at a globe-trotting action drama. Hrithik and Jr NTR are involved in aerial combats, apart from having a go at each other on top of trains. The two are also in seen targeting at each other on racing speedboats.
With dialogues from Abbas Tyrewala and screenplay from Shridhar Raghavan, War 2 is a sequel to the 2019 thriller directed by Siddharth Anand. The movie is part of the YRF Spy Universe. Set to hit the screens on August 14, 2025, War 2 is the sixth film in the universe.
On May 20, 2025, the makers of War 2 had dropped a teaser for the movie. Jr NTR, who is touted to play the antagonist, was introduced as a mystery character in the teaser.

War, also starring Tiger Shroff and Vani Kapoor, was a high-octane action drama that minted ₹200 crores within seven days of its release in 2019. It’s touted to be one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of that year.
War 2, with music from Pritam, is set to clash at the box office with Coolie, starring Rajinikanth. The Lokesh Kanagaraj-directorial has an ensemble cast, including Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj and Shruti Haasan. War 2 is produced by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films.
