Kim Kardashian has had plenty to say about her ex-husband, Kanye West, since the couple divorced in 2022.
Kardashian and West married in 2014 and share four kids — daughters North, 11, and Chicago, 7, as well as sons Saint, 9, and Psalm, 5. Coparenting means that Kardashian and West still see a lot of each other, and their relationship has been amicable at times and distant at others.
When West went on a series of rants via social media in February 2025 that included antisemitic comments and criticism of Kardashian as a “surgery addict,” the Skims founder moved to put “strict rules in place” about West visiting the kids.
“She’s so angry but she can’t say a word against him in front of her kids, because she knows it will upset them, and she’s bound and determined to protect them no matter what,” an insider told In Touch. “It’s classic Kanye, because he’s been acting all nice lately and she thought things might finally be getting better and then he does this, which is just so hurtful.”
It’s not the first time West has attacked his ex-wife publicly. In 2021, they butted heads over Kardashian’s monologue when she hosted Saturday Night Live. Two years later, he called her out again, this time for running a joint TikTok account with North without his consent.

Everything Kim Kardashian Has Said About Ex-Husband Kanye West Since Their Divorce
Kim Kardashian has had plenty to say about her ex-husband, Kanye West, since the couple divorced in 2022. Coparenting means that Kardashian and West still see a lot of each other, and their relationship has been amicable at times and distant at others. Kardashian hasn’t revealed everything about her divorce, but she shed some light on the issues surrounding the split during a June 2021 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which aired two months after they officially agreed to end their marriage.
“After turning 40 this year, I realized, no, I don’t want a husband that lives in a completely different state,” she said. “I thought, ‘That’s when we’re getting along the best,’ but then that is sad to me. And that’s not what I want.”
She added during that season’s reunion show with Andy Cohen that she sees her and West staying friends.
“I respect him so much and you know, that was my friend first, first and foremost, for a long time, so I can't see that going away,” she said. “I will forever be Kanye's biggest fan. He's the father of my kids, Kanye will always be family.”
Kardashian hasn’t been afraid to admit that even though things didn’t work out between her and West, she was able to learn from him.
"As long as he was true to himself, that taught me so much in the best way [about] just being me and living in the moment," she said on the "We Are Supported By" podcast in August 2021. "You don't have to please everyone. As long as I'm myself and as long as I'm doing it the way that I want to, like, you have one life and you're living it for you. That taught me to just be more confident in myself and truly not care as much of what other people thought."
The reality star added that October that West “will always be the most inspirational person to me.”
“He has a piece of Skims himself and gives [the team] inspiration but also information,” she said. “I think he enjoys the process.”
Kardashian poked fun at her ex during her opening monologue when she hosted SNL in October 2021.
"I married the best rapper of all time," she said. "Not only that, he’s the richest Black man in America: a talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids. So when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality.”
She also made fun of his unsuccessful 2020 presidential campaign.
“Now I know we’re divided as a country, but I’d love America to come together, which is why I'm here to announce that I’m running for ... I’m just kidding, guys," she quipped. "I’m not running for president. We can’t have three failed politicians in one family.”
West was actually present for the show, but was so bothered by the jokes that, according to Kardashian, he walked out and the two stopped speaking.
“He walked out on SNL mid-monologue. I haven’t talked to him since. He is upset at the fact that I used the word ‘divorced’ — so he wished I said the word 'filed for divorce,'" she explained in a May 2022 episode of The Kardashians. “And he was upset that I also said he was ‘a rapper.’ He said, ‘I am so much more than a rapper. I can’t believe you said rapper.'”
“He did an interview last night saying, like, SNL got me to say that I ‘divorced him,'” she continued. “I came prepared with my monologue and that really, like, upset him. I showed him the monologue, but he says he never read it, like, he just didn’t read the text. Kanye had a hard time with what I said. He’s like, ‘I haven’t signed the divorce papers.’ … I don’t know [what he’s waiting for]. I ask him all the time. He says he will and then he’s like, ‘Well, I don’t want a divorce, so I don’t want to sign it.'”
Through their ups and downs, Kardashian has been consistent in trying to support West in front of their kids. She spoke about putting her emotions aside for their sake in an interview with Vogue published in February 2022.
You could be so hurt or angry at your ex, but I think in front of the kids, it always has to be ‘Your dad’s the best,’” she said. “Make sure you are your coparent’s biggest cheerleader, no matter what you’re personally going through.”
A few months later, she sat down with ABC News and revealed that her older kids, North and Saint, “know what’s going on” between her and West.
“You want to take the high road and sometimes it’s hard,” she explained. “I’ve always been a champion of him speaking his truth.”
She added: “You have to just be there for them. No matter what, even in this crazy life that we live, you just have to have a really open dialogue with your children. Kanye and I have had conversations. We have to talk daily for the kids, so you know, I hate that it had to play out like that. But when it comes to family, I mean, Kanye and I will always be family.”
When West ranted via X that he did not approve of North having a shared TikTok account with Kardashian, she posted a lengthy statement via her Instagram story, calling out his “constant attacks.”
“Kanye’s constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create,” she wrote. “As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision — because it brings her happiness. Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all. From the beginning I have wanted nothing but a healthy and supportive coparenting relationship because it is what is best for our children and it saddens me that Kanye continues to make it impossible every step of the way. I wish to handle all matters regarding our children privately and hopefully he can finally respond to the third attorney he has had in the last year to resolve any issues amicably."
Despite their differences, Kardashian took time to thank West for being the “best dad” to their four kids.
"Thank you for being the best dad to our babies and loving them the way you do,” she posted to her Instagram Story on Father’s Day in 2022. “Happy Father’s Day Ye.”
Kardashian also shared photos of West with their children.
Kardashian shared in the Season 1 finale of The Kardashians that she did her best to make her marriage work.
“If people knew what my relationship really was like I think they would be like, ‘How did this last this long?” she told her sister, Khloe. “But I can live with myself knowing that I tried everything humanly possible to make a situation work and so I can walk away feeling absolutely guilt free.”
Kardashian revealed that West “tends to not care about his stuff” during a season 2 episode of The Kardashians in November 2022.
"Even now when he was at the height of not speaking to me and being angry with me,” she said. “He won a few Grammys and I still reached out and was like, 'I know you just won a few Grammys, I gotta add them to the vault.' He's like, 'OK.' Because the kids want them — and I want them all together."
Not every comment from Kardashian about her ex-husband is so obvious. In January 2023, she posted and subsequently deleted an Instagram story in which she appeared to reference West’s new relationship with his now-wife Biana Censori.
“I’m in my quiet girl era, I don't have much to say. Just much to do,” she wrote.
West has been a magnet for controversy in the years since their divorce. Kardashian admitted it’s been a challenge protecting her kids from what the public is saying about their father.
“I definitely protected him, and I still will in the eyes of my kids. For my kids. So, in my home, my kids don’t know anything that goes on [in] the outside world,” she told Vogue Italia in June 2023. “I am holding on by a thread. I know that I am so close to that not happening, but while it is still that way, I will protect that to the end of the Earth as long as I can. My kids don’t know anything. So, at school, some of my best friends are the teachers so I know what goes on at recess and lunchtime. I hear what is being talked about.”
During an October 2025 appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Kardashian said she was “really dissociated” during parts of her marriage to West, but she doesn't think the relationship is a failure.
“An over a decade relationship with four beautiful children is not a failure,” she said. “You can’t think that way. You can’t live that way. You can’t worry about what everyone’s going to say and I have to come home to myself and I have to be happy.”
Kardashian admitted it was “not easy” to coparent with West, revealing in October 2025 that it had “been a couple [of] months” since they heard from him.
“They live with me, and I welcome a great, healthy relationship with my kids and their dad. And I think he knows that,” she continued on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “I push for it all the time, but I also protect them when it’s time for that. It goes in waves and phases, and it’s a lot of work.”
