Olivia Wilde may have a new man: art dealer and Ellie Golding’s ex-husband, Caspar Jopling.
On Thursday, September 4, Wilde was spotted making out with Jopling outside London’s The Pelican restaurant in photos obtained by Page Six.
Jopling was previously married to Golding from 2019 up until they announced their split in February 2024. The twosome share a son, Arthur.
“In light of recent stories, I feel I have been left with no choice but to let you all know that Caspar and I privately separated some time ago,” Golding wrote in a statement via Instagram Story at the time, adding that she and Joplin have remained “the closest of friends” and continue to amicably coparent Arthur together. “We are committed to protecting our family’s privacy and thank people in advance for respecting our wishes — we won’t be commenting further. Thank you.”
Jopling, for his part, also confirmed their split on his own account.
“I feel (sadly) that I need to say something on mine and Ellie’s current relationship … that I hope more than anything will make any tabloid speculation disappear,” he wrote via Instagram. “Ellie and I remain the closest of friends, and most importantly, ‘coparents’ to the best kiddo in the world, Arthur.”

He Is An Art Dealer
According to Jopling’s LinkedIn profile, he graduated from Harvard in 2014 with a BA in History of Art and Architecture and Film Studies, going on to obtain his MBA from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, in 2020.
After working at Sotheby’s in contemporary art development and strategy until 2019, Caspar began working as a Strategist at his uncle Jay Jopling’s White Cube gallery in September 2021.
He Was Previously Married to Ellie Goulding
Caspar and the singer started dating after meeting at a dinner with friends in New York in 2016, eventually tying the knot in August 2019. The twosome went on to welcome son Arthur in April 2021 before announcing their split in February 2024.
“We remain the closest of friends and have been successfully co-parenting with our son’s best interests at heart,” Goulding wrote via Instagram Story.
He Is a Father
Caspar is father to him and Goulding’s son Arthur, born in April 2021. Following his split from Goulding in February 2024, Caspar emphasized that he and Goulding continue to coparent the “best kiddo in the world.”
He Has Ties to the Royal Family
Caspar was born in Yorkshire and attended Eton, the same school that many members of the royal family have also attended. According to the Daily Mail, his uncle, Jay, runs the online art platform Paddle 8, where Princess Eugenie worked in New York before she moved back to London. Meanwhile, Caspar’s grandfather, Thomas Michael Jopling, was a member of the House of Lords.

Due to running in similar circles, Caspar became good friends with Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, as well as Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Caspar and Goulding attended Eugenie’s wedding in October 2018 while Eugenie and Beatrice both were in attendance at Caspar and Goulding’s wedding in August 2019.
His Sister Works in the Entertainment Business
Caspar’s sister, Tamara Meade, is in the entertainment business as a make-up artist — and even took home an Emmy Award for her work on Netflix’s Wednesday in 2023.
“My sister @tamarameademua just won an EMMY for her work on the Netflix show Wednesday,” Caspar wrote via Instagram in January 2024. “So flipping proud of her. Her inspirational work ethic pays off..! I bet she’s already at work by the time you’re getting out of bed.. And with a smile on her face too !! Xxx.”
