The beloved comedy star began casting his wife, Jackie Sandler, in minor roles in several of his hits even before they tied the knot in 2003, and has continued the trend with their two daughters, Sadie and Sunny. Sadie, born in May 2006, and Sunny, born in November 2008 both have acted in their dad’s movies since they were toddlers. The girls had their biggest roles yet in Adam’s 2023 coming-of-age comedy, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, and were part of 2025’s epic Happy Gilmore 2 cast along with Travis Kelce, Ben Stiller, Bad Bunny and Margaret Qualley. Adam and Jackie tied the knot in Malibu, California, after dating for four years. The couple met on the set of Adam’s 1999 comedy Big Daddy. 

Adam and Jackie celebrated the arrival of their first baby, daughter Sadie Madison. Shortly thereafter, the Wedding Singer actor joked on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno that Sadie was already ruling the roost.

“We're very tight with this child – everything we do is about the kid, and the kid now all of the sudden worships me,” he teased. “It was my wife the whole time and then the last month or two, it's all Sandler. It's like anything I do, the kid wants to do.”

Sadie made her onscreen debut at age 2 in her dad’s 2008 movie You Don't Mess with the Zohan, where she played a young girl taking a goat ride.

The Sandlers welcomed their second baby, Sunny Madeline. This time, Adam released a statement on his website to announce his family’s latest addition.

“Everyone is happy and healthy,” he confirmed.

Sunny made her big-screen debut with older sister Sadie and mom Jackie in Adam’s 2010 blockbuster Grown Ups, playing the family of Sandler’s onscreen rival.

The Sandlers have owned several bulldogs over the years — though Adam’s beloved pet Meatball has a special place in fans’ hearts. Adam adopted Meatball in 2000 and even named a short-lived production company after the pup.

Adam offered a loving tribute to Meatball in 2014 to mark the 10th anniversary of his death, offering some “Monday morning Meatball love” for all of his Instagram followers.

Sunny and Sadie were by their dad’s side often at Hollywood events while growing up, including at the 2016 Kids' Choice Awards in Los Angeles.

After a romantic date night, the comedian shared via Instagram: “Had fun roaming around with my superstar and partner in crime late last night.”

Adam celebrated the 22nd anniversary of meeting Jackie on the set of Big Daddy.

“22 years ago today we locked eyes and fell deep,” he recalled. “Look forward to the next 22, young lady. Love you my forever girl.”

For Valentine’s Day, Adam posted a hilarious throwback photo that revealed the playful dynamic in his marriage.

“Happy Valentine’s to my girl ❤️❤️❤️4ever,” Adam wrote.

The 50 First Dates actor wrote a heartfelt tribute to Jackie and his own mom Judy for Mother’s Day.

“Happy Mothers Day to this sweet lady who always makes life more fun and sweet for our girls. You are our rock,” he lovingly wrote to Jackie. “Love you always and happy birthday to your beautiful mama today too!”

Adam added for his mother, Judy: “A wonderful day to this incredible lady too. Mom. Grandma. Great grandma. Loved by all who know her. Happy Mothers Day mamma!”

Adam shared a throwback to his 2003 wedding day in honor of his 20th anniversary.

“Happy 20th my sweet Jackie,” he wrote. “Your ‘I do’ was the best gift of my life. My heart has been yours since the first second I saw you and I love and appreciate your devoted soul more and more each day. Us. The kids. Lets keep going and going babe. Lots of love to give you. Always.”

Adam and Jackie brought their now grown daughters Sunny and Sadie along for an evening filled with green slime at the 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.

The Sandler family joined Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos, Bad Bunny and more cast and crew from Happy Gilmore 2 at the movie’s red carpet premiere at the historic Lincoln Center in New York City.
