Alex Cooper did not have many baseball fans root, root, rooting for her during her seventh inning stretch performance over the weekend.
The “Call Her Daddy” podcast host, 30, sang “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during the showdown between the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago’s Wrigley Field on Sunday, July 6.
“Alright Daddy Gang and Cubs fans, are you ready?” Cooper started the rendition. “You’ve never seen something like this before.”
Cooper then launched into an operatic version of the song, complete with choreography and a couple of supportive backup dancers. The podcast mogul was lifted into the air as she struggled to finish the song through her own laughter.
The sold-out crowd at Wrigley Field certainly hadn’t quite seen anything like it before, showering Cooper with boos.
Cooper’s performance also drew strong reactions from baseball fans watching the game at home, which ultimately ended in an 11-0 Cubs victory.
“What Alex Cooper did at Wrigley should be studied forever because if you get boo’ed for ANYTHING while the #Cubs are beating the Cardinals by 11 runs you definitely deserved it,” one fan shared via X.
Another wrote, “This performance by alex cooper calls for a lifetime ban from every ballpark in north america.”
One fan argued via X that Cooper’s performance showed “a total lack of respect” and that she “deserves the boos & blowback.”
“I respect Alex Cooper, but this was probably the worst seventh inning stretch I’ve ever been apart of,” another wrote.
Jomboy Media posted a video via X from inside the ballpark, which demonstrated just how loud the boos for Cooper were.
It was a packed weekend in Chicago for Cooper, who launched her Unwell Network in August 2023. In December 2024, Cooper launched a line of Unwell hydration drinks.
Cooper and Unwell hosted a party at Recess Chicago on Saturday, July 5, which featured an appearance from Cooper and DJ sets from Cash Cash, FiFi and a surprise appearance from Dillon Francis.

The seventh inning performance didn’t seem to damper Cooper’s mood, who has posted a series of photos and videos from her weekend in the Windy City via Instagram.
“Chicago y’all are GNARLLLYYY 🙂 too much fun last night,” she wrote after the party at Recess on Saturday. “Cant wait to do it again today ⚾️.”
