Sister Wives star Christine Brown can’t help her curiosity about ex Kody Brown competing on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
“I’m not gonna watch. That would be … Maybe I will,” Christine, 53, said with a laugh during her appearance on “The Sarah Fraser Show” on Tuesday, September 2. “I think [Christine’s husband] David [Woolley] is gonna wanna watch. I’m sure David’s gonna be like, ‘We gotta see what he’s gonna do. That’s crazy.’ I don’t think I’m gonna be able to watch full episodes.”
Christine added that she knew “nothing” about her ex-husband’s participation in season 4 of the Fox reality series, which was announced in August.
“I don’t know how well he does. … I was shocked. I had no idea he even did it,” she said.
Christine then joked, “We’ll just see if his skills are as good as his ego. No, did I say that out loud? That’s terrible.”
Christine entered a spiritual marriage with Kody, 56, in March 1994. At the time, he was also spiritually married to Janelle Brown and legally married to Meri Brown, although he later divorced Meri, 54, and entered a spiritual marriage with her in order to legally marry Robyn Brown.
Christine and Kody welcomed son Paedon, 27, and daughters Aspyn, 30, Mykelti, 29, Gwendlyn, 23, Ysabel, 22, and Truely, 15, during their marriage. They announced their split in November 2021, and Christine later married David in October 2023.
The aftermath of Christine and Kody’s split, as well as his splits from Meri and Janelle, 56, have played out on TLC’s Sister Wives. The drama is set to continue in season 20, premiering on September 28.
The new season of Sister Wives will arrive days after the premiere of Special Forces season 4. The show sees athletes, reality stars, musicians and other celebs put through a series of tests that the real United States Special Forces completes to become part of the military. There are no eliminations, but contestants can voluntarily leave the competition.
Kody’s castmates include The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice and her daughter Gia Giudice, The Valley’s Brittany Cartwright, Olympian Shawn Johnson East and her husband, Andrew East, married couple Jessie James Decker and husband Eric Decker and more.
Both LaPaglia, 26, and Gia, 24, hinted that they experienced tension with Kody during filming.
“Let’s just say I didn’t know who he was while filming,” LaPaglia wrote via her Instagram Story on August 6. “And we didn’t necessarily ~get along well~ lmao you will see.”
Meanwhile, Gia said on her “Casual Chaos” podcast, “I can’t even name one person that I really did not get along with on this cast. There were definitely some people that would get under your skin a little bit, and you guys will see that on the show.”
While Gia didn’t name Kody, she hinted that she was talking about him by noting that fans had been discussing the casting choice online.
“You guys have all been talking about him already,” she continued. “So, I’m sure you could assume who it is. But the rest of the cast was really amazing. Everyone was so strong, so motivating. And I think we all motivated each other in some way. I would say we were a really strong team.”
Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test season 4 premieres on Fox on Thursday, September 25, at 9 p.m. ET.
