Sydney Sweeney served up vintage style while promoting her upcoming movie Americana, sharing new behind-the-scenes photos that gave a sneak peek at her look in the crime-thriller.

“A few years ago I filmed this little movie with some friends and now you get to meet Penny Jo,” she teased in an Instagram post on Wednesday, August 13, ahead of its theatrical release.

Sweeney, 27, showed off her voluminous curls while getting into character as a small-town waitress with big dreams of becoming a country superstar.

In the series of pics, she can be seen grinning with her big and bold ‘do in a trailer, capturing a snap of her own while sporting a bandana and strumming on a guitar in her bedroom.

One of the photos featured her costar Halsey, who posed for the camera with rock ’n’ roll hand signs and an ‘80s inspired mane while filming her scenes as Mandy Starr.

Penny Jo will team up with “a lovelorn military veteran” named Lefty Ledbetter — portrayed by Paul Walter Hauser — before the duo stumbles upon trouble when finding themselves “in the crosshairs of a ruthless criminal as they try to retrieve a rare Native American artifact,” per the film’s description.

“Dolly [Parton] is definitely her biggest aspirational role model,” Sweeney told Entertainment Weekly in June. “Dolly is almost like a godlike figure to Penny Jo, and I really wanted to make sure that we had the aspirations of being Dolly, but then, she doesn’t have the resources.”

The Euphoria star is back on Instagram after returning to social media nearly two weeks ago in the wake of her American Eagle denim campaign sparking widespread backlash.

The campaign, called “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,” was condemned as overtly sexual and accused of promoting eugenics — garnering a response from the brand on August 1 that noted it “always was about the jeans.”

“We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way,” the statement read. “Great jeans look good on everyone.”

Although the actress has yet to respond to the outrage, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that “Sydney thinks this whole thing has been blown out of proportion.”

Americana hits theaters on Friday, August 15.
