In theory, HBO Max should be able to hold on to all of the classic Warner Bros. movies in its library.

Unfortunately for film lovers, that’s not the case, and HBO Max will lose several titles on November 1.

However, you still have until the end of October 31 to catch your favorite films before they depart.

Watch With Us can help you plan out your week of movie nights with our list of the five movies leaving HBO Max in November that you have to watch.

Beetlejuice is the least scary ghost story this side of Casper the Friendly Ghost, but it’s also hilarious. Director Tim Burton was in peak form when he let Michael Keaton‘s title character run wild, even though Beetlejuice has a shockingly short amount of screen time in his own film.

Instead, the focus falls on a dead couple, Adam (Alec Baldwin) and Barbara Maitland (Geena Davis), who resent the fact that the Deetz family is living in their dream home. Except for their teenage daughter, Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder), whom they adore in part because she can see and hear them. Beetlejuice also has his eye on Lydia to help him escape from the afterlife. And he’ll unleash mayhem in the name of making her his bride.

The Big Lebowski is a wonderfully bizarre crime comedy that’s one of the best films made by the Coen brothers. Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski (Jeff Bridges) is the main character, but not the title character. Instead, The Dude is mistaken for Jeffrey “The Big” Lebowski (David Huddleston), a supposedly wealthy man who owes money to criminals.

Naturally, The Dude wants no part of any of the drama in The Big Lebowski’s life, but he gets roped into delivering a ransom for the latter’s kidnapped wife, Bunny Lebowski (Tara Reid). As far as The Dude is concerned, this isn’t his mess to clean up. He just wants to go bowling with his buddies, Walter Sobchak (John Goodman) and Donny Kerabatsos (Steve Buscemi).

Stephen King might have been projecting a little bit when he wrote the original story for Misery. Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates) is the biggest fan of author Paul Sheldon (James Caan), to a disturbing degree.

Annie saved Paul from a car wreck that almost claimed his life. But Annie also holds him hostage during his recovery, and she becomes enraged when she discovers that Paul killed off Misery Chastain, her favorite character. Annie won’t let Paul go until he writes a new novel that resurrects Misery. And perhaps not even then.

Bates won a well-deserved Best Actress Oscar for her riveting performance as Annie, who can go from sweet to sinister in the blink of an eye.

Jennifer Lopez wasn’t nearly as famous as she is now when she portrayed Selena Quintanilla in the film that shares her name. Selena is a biopic that relates how Quintanilla became a musical sensation at a young age alongside her siblings, A.B. (Jacob Vargas) and Suzette Quintanilla (Jackie Guerra).

Their father, Abraham Quintanilla (Edward James Olmos), manages the group and attempts to keep Selena from doing anything that would jeopardize her rise to fame. But even Abraham can’t stop Selena from falling in love with the band’s new guitarist, Chris Pérez (Jon Seda). Unfortunately for the young lovers, their story doesn’t have a happy ending.

It’s a rare film that wins Best Picture, as well as Best Actor and Best Actress for the two leading performers. The Silence of the Lambs pulled off that trifecta at the Oscars, as well as Best Director for Jonathan Demme and Best Adapted Screenplay for Ted Tally.

Anthony Hopkins gives the most chilling performance of his career as Hannibal Lecter, an imprisoned serial killer and cannibal. Hannibal is also a genius, which is why the FBI sends a young agent, Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster), to probe him for insights about another killer, Buffalo Bill (Ted Levine). However, Hannibal doesn’t do anything for free, and his currency is information. In his hands, that’s very dangerous, and anyone who turns their back on Hannibal is making a grave mistake.

“They’re here.” In the ’80s, Heather O’Rourke‘s delivery of Poltergeist‘s signature line was iconic. It’s still super creepy four decades later. The movie follows Steve (Craig T. Nelson) and Diane Freeling (JoBeth Williams), as well as their children, Carol Anne (O’Rourke), Robbie (Oliver Robins) and Dana (Dominique Dunne), as they find themselves at the center of a supernatural firestorm.

Carol Anne feels a special affinity for the spirits in the Freeling house before things get wildly out of control. There’s more than one ghost causing trouble here, including one particularly malevolent spirit that kidnaps Carol Anne and unleashes horrors upon the family.

Poltergeist is streaming on HBO Max.

Given that there’s a Practical Magic sequel coming very soon, you’d think that HBO Max wouldn’t be letting go of one of its library titles. Regardless, the original Practical Magic is a fun mix of supernatural and romance that centers on two sisters, Sally (Sandra Bullock) and Gilly Owens (Nicole Kidman). The Owens family line is under a curse that prevents them from being happily in love. That might explain why Sally is a widowed mother of two and Gilly is stuck in an abusive relationship.

Sally’s attempt to help Gilly backfires on both sisters, as they have to hide the evidence of who and what they are when the police get involved. Investigator Gary Hallet (Aidan Quinn) and Sally even have romantic chemistry, but she’s well aware of what will happen if she falls in love again … unless the sisters can break the curse and be free.

About three decades before AMC’s TV adaptation, director Neil Jordan attempted to adapt Anne Rice‘s Interview with the Vampire, and he cast Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in the leading roles. Christian Slater also stars as Daniel Molloy, a reporter who lands the interview of a lifetime with a real vampire, Louis de Pointe du Lac (Pitt).

Through extensive flashbacks, Louis relates how he was turned into a vampire by Lestat de Lioncourt (Cruise), and how they took on a young girl, Claudia (Kirsten Dunst), as their vampire daughter. However, neither Lewis nor Claudia finds happiness under Lestat’s control, and they plot to free themselves from his influence, no matter what they have to do.

Interview with the Vampire is streaming on HBO Max.
