Some East High Wildcats turned up to support Zac Efron‘s brother Dylan Efron in the Dancing With the Stars ballroom on Halloween Night.
High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale shared a selfie with director Kenny Ortega as they attended the Tuesday, October 28, live taping of the dance competition. “I love @kennyortegablog so much,” Tisdale, 40, wrote via her Instagram Story. “So much fun cheering on @dylanefron together.”
Dylan, 33, reposted the photo via his own Instagram Story on Tuesday night, adding a few crying emojis.
Tisdale starred as Sharpay Evans in the High School Musical franchise, which also helped launch Zac, 38, into the spotlight. He played basketball player turned musical theater star Troy Bolton in all three movies.
When news broke in September that Dylan would be joining season 34 of DWTS, fans quickly wondered whether he’d get any dance tips from his older brother. Dylan, who previously made a name for himself on season 3 of The Traitors, told Us Weekly that his family was fully on board with his ballroom journey.
“My dad is super excited,” he said before the season premiere. “He has little kids, 4 and 5. They’re all super excited. My mom was honestly just shocked. She’s just like, ‘Where’d this come from?’ My brother is supportive.”

Dylan recalled Zac going to a DWTS taping “a long time ago” and loving the experience. “He’s like, ‘The best part is going to be those live shows.’ He was saying, like, it’s such a good feeling,” Dylan told Us.
At the time, Dylan played coy about whether any family members would make an appearance in the ballroom this season, teasing, “We’ll see.”
Throughout the competition, viewers have caught glimpses of Dylan’s younger siblings — his little sister, Olivia, even joined him on the dance floor during Dedication Night — but Zac has been noticeably absent.
“Hey, he’s doing his thing,” Dylan told Extra earlier this month, confirming that Zac is “supporting me every day” despite not being in the audience to cheer him on.
Dylan has spoken candidly on the show about having his family in his corner. While rehearsing with Olivia for their Dedication Night performance, Dylan got emotional about the example Zac set for him growing up.
“Zac’s always taken care of me and he did things that were so selfless,” Dylan said in his intro package. “I wanna be that to Olivia, I wanna be the best role model I can.”
Alongside pro partner Daniella Karagach, Dylan and Olivia danced to Zac’s song “Rewrite the Stars” from The Greatest Showman during the October 14 episode.
“It just made sense,” he told Us of the song choice. “It wasn’t even a thought. That’s like my favorite performance by Zac, so it was special.”
Dylan and Karagach, 32, survived another elimination on Tuesday after earning 35 points for their haunting Viennese waltz. As they prepare for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night, Karagach opened up about how she and Dylan navigate the internet’s opinions on their dancing.
“You just do your job, get in the studio, work hard and post when you need to post,” Karagach told Us on Tuesday. “Get up on off [social media], get up and leave as fast as you can. Too many opinions.”
Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET, with new episodes streaming the next day on Hulu.
