G Flip Opens Up About 'Dark Periods' of IVF Journey With Chrishell Stause

G Flip is getting candid about the difficult days in their in vitro fertilization (IVF) journey with wife Chrishell Stause.

“For anyone going through IVF — queer or straight couples or anyone not even in a couple, just even on their own — it’s such a hard thing,” the Australian singer, 31, who is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns, told People on Monday, September 8. “And we’re experiencing the real kind of sad and dark periods of this moment, where it’s like, a little bit of good news, a lot of bad news, a little bit of hope, no hope.”

G Flip (real name: Georgia Claire Flipo) added that the process has been a “real up-and-down thing.”

“In the end, you’ve got to lean on each other and be there for each other, and come out of it still a unit and try not to let it break the relationship or break people individually,” they continued. “I really feel for anyone who’s going through it, and I have friends going through it, and God, it’s really sad. It’s very grim.”

G Flip and Stause, 44, tied the knot in Las Vegas in May 2023 after one year of dating.

Stause exclusively shared with Us Weekly in March that it’s been a “bumpy road” to starting a family together via adoption.

“We’ve kept the details a little under wraps, just because I don’t think it helps anybody to go into all the details,” she said. “But I’ll just say to anyone that understands this process — there are just a lot of different roadblocks, and so we do feel like we’re on the upswing.”

Stause continued, “We are feeling really positive about where we’re at currently. And I will tell you this — nobody will be happier to report good news than me when it’s that time. So, until then, I just really feel like everything happens for a reason.”

In June, Stause shared via her Instagram Stories that she was trying IVF again.

“Back on the IVF hell train. I think this may be my last attempt,” she wrote at the time. “There are other alternatives, but this route needed to be tried first bc of timing. So if it’s meant to be it will be. If not, pivot ♥️.”

Stause’s post came after she and G Flip opened up to Us about their “stressful” journey in a cover story to kick off Pride month.

“We’re in a situation where it’s not easy to have kids,” Stause said. “It’s not like we can have one naturally. There are so many steps, there’s so much planning, there are so many complications and things that can go wrong.”

G Flip admitted, “Queer couples having kids, things not going your way, it’s been pretty sad at times.”

However, the couple said they’re supporting each other as much as possible.

“When you’re at your worst, your partner takes care of you,” Stause said, while G Flip added, “We write each other notes and text messages gassing each other up. We actually do a lot of these things daily.”

Stause continued, “We’re still on that road and we’ve had a few setbacks. But we’re just navigating and going through the process. It doesn’t always happen the way you want it. Whatever happens is what’s meant to happen, and we are trying to support each other through it all.”
