The Real Housewives of Miami’s newest cast member, Stephanie Shojaee, has no time for false accusations.
The reality star, 40, took to her Instagram Stories to defend herself against claims that she had an affair with her now-husband, Masoud Shojaee, and used sex to achieve her career goals.
Stephanie opened up her Stories to anonymous questions on Sunday, July 13. “Are the rumors true!! Were you his assistant!” one fan sent in a reference to a rumor that Stephanie initially worked for her husband and had an affair while he was married to Maria Lamas.
“Assistant?” Stephanie answered. “I’ve NEVER even met the woman… Let’s be clear: rumors like that don’t start from truth, they start from bitter people looking for attention But I get it… when people can’t be part of a story, they rewrite it…”
In a lawsuit filed in February 2023, Masoud’s ex-wife, Lamas and the pair’s daughters, Anelise and Lilibet, accused Stephanie of defamation after she spoke about her relationship during an interview on the “Divorced Not Dead” podcast in December 2022.
“The false and spiteful statements portrayed Ms. Lamas as incompetent, careless, lazy and hateful,” the Real Deal reported the complaint read at the time. “And portrayed the daughters as ungrateful, spiteful and overall dreadful women who have abused the goodwill and kindness of Mr. Shojaee.”
According to the outlet, Stephanie raised Lamas’ ire by comparing their respective relationships with Masoud.
“[Mr. Shojaee and I are] an unstoppable force vs. when he was with his ex-wife, who wasn’t a workaholic, didn’t go to work, didn’t really care so much,” Stephanie allegedly said. “She spent probably more money. She just didn’t have social media to flaunt it.”
Lamas’ lawsuit was dropped in October 2023.
Stephanie and Masoud married in 2019, one year after Masoud and Lamas finalized their divorce.
In a second Instagram Story on Sunday, the reality star also shot down accusations that she “slept her way to the top.”

“If sleeping your way to the top worked, you’d be on top too,” she responded. “So what happened? Because By the looks of your profile you slept yourself to the Walmart clearance aisle…”
On the July 7 episode of RHOM, Stephanie told castmate Larsa Pippen, “My husband started Shoma Group, the third largest real estate development company in South Florida in the early ’80s,” she said, later adding, “I knew at a very young age that I wanted to be filthy rich. I’m sleeping and I go like this, ‘We gotta make money!'”
Stephanie has also been open about her background as a first-generation American. “My parents came to this country with nothing but a backpack,” she said in a show confessional. “Being a first-generation American has made me who I am today. There is no room for failure. You have to keep going until you make it. If one door closes, go find another door. If that door’s closed, keep searching.”
