Emma Stone detailed exactly how she got her smooth bald head while filming Bugonia.
Stone, 36, opened up about shaving her head for her upcoming movie, in which she plays Michelle, while chatting at a press conference during the Venice Film Festival on Thursday, August 28.
“You just take the razor and [buzz],” she playfully explained while gesturing to her hair. “It’s so much easier than any hairstyle.”
Stone’s bald look was also revealed on Thursday in the shocking Bugonia movie poster, which features the actress with a completely bare scalp.
While chatting about her buzzed hair moment, Stone rocked a head-to-toe Louis Vuitton outfit featuring a black minidress complete with a bodycon silhouette and halter straps. She layered a sheer lace skirt over the design and accessorized with a silver cuff on her forearm, as well as a diamond earmuff by Louis Vuitton and round Lapima Maria sunglasses.
Stone styled her copper hair, which had since grown out to a chic pixie cut, in loose waves that were parted to the side. For glam, she slayed with soft makeup, including black eyeliner, dewy skin and lined pink lips.
The actress previously opened up about her haircut while chatting with Vogue earlier this month, sharing that she loved the effortless look.
“No better feeling in the world,” she said. “The first shower when you’ve shaved your head? Oh my God, it’s amazing.”
While she was fine with shaving her tresses off, Stone admitted that she cried in her trailer before parting ways with her mane. She also got candid about her mom, Krista Stone, losing her hair while undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
“She actually did something brave. I’m just shaving my head,” Emma said, noting that her mom was actually envious that her daughter was getting to experience a smooth head for the first time. “My mom was like, ‘I’m so jealous. I want to shave my head again.’”
Emma’s friends, however, weren’t thrilled about her going bald. Jennifer Lawrence told Vogue, “I really didn’t want her to shave her head.”
“I had already lived through the Billie Jean King haircut,” Lawrence, 34, added, referencing Emma’s 2017 movie, Battle of Sexes, when she played the tennis star.
