John Stamos Goes Off About Lori Loughlin’s 'Narcissist' Husband Mossimo

John Stamos has Full House costar Lori Loughlin’s back amid her separation from her husband, Mossimo Giannulli.

“40 years I’ve known her,” Stamos, 62, began of Loughlin, 61, on the Monday, October 20, episode of the “Good Guys” podcast. “You can see through people after a few years. This woman’s a saint. I’m just heartbroken for her right now.”

While Stamos praised Loughlin on the podcast, he didn’t have many nice things to say about her estranged husband, whom the actor claimed was to blame for Loughlin getting caught up in the 2019 college admissions scandal.

“He’s a terrible narcissist,” Stamos said of Giannulli, 62, claiming Loughlin “put up with a lot over the years [with] this guy.”

He later declared, “I really tried to be there for her during this time and also with the college scandal. … I’m not going to debate whether she had much to do with it or not. I know she didn’t.”

Stamos alleged that Giannulli “dragged her through that” before recalling the moment he learned the estranged couple was under investigation for allegedly paying to get their daughters, Olivia Jade and Bella, into the University of Southern California in 2019.

“She’s not a liar. She’s a saint,” Stamos said of Loughlin, revealing that when he called to check in on Loughlin the day the scandal broke, she told him, “Mossimo handles all that stuff.”

Stamos claimed that Loughlin didn’t appear to have any idea what was happening before she and Giannulli were arrested for their alleged involvement.

Loughlin and Giannulli pleaded guilty to charges of wire and mail fraud in 2020 after initially pleading not guilty. She served two months in jail, while Gianulli was sentenced to five months in prison. The pair both served two years of supervised release, completed community service hours and paid $400,000 in fines total.

“She goes to f**ing prison for this a**hole for three months, right? And he goes for whatever. And in typical Lori fashion, I said, ‘How was it?’ She goes, ‘You know, I met a lot of nice ladies in there. We have a book club,’” Stamos told listeners of Loughlin’s reaction to her prison stay.

He alleged, “She didn’t deserve to be dragged through that. … I know for a fact it was all him. … I don’t think Olivia wanted to go to college. I can’t speak for her, but it seems like she was doing great with her YouTube and [makeup].”

When asked about Giannulli and Loughlin’s separation, which Us confirmed earlier this month, Stamos once again had Louglin’s back. (After 27 years of marriage, Loughlin’s rep told Us on October 2 that the couple “are living apart now,” noting that “there are no legal proceedings underway.”)

“All of a sudden they’re split up and I know she’s just devastated,” Stamos said. “For a girl who, you know, has lived her life really well, [is] a good person, a good mother, a good wife. I know all this for a fact. To be thrown into, now, this separation and exploding, blowing up her family this way. And I just hate to see her go through this.”

Stamos added that he’s “taking a fifth on that” when asked about the rumors Giannulli cheated on Loughlin, but revealed, “Whatever he did to her, it busted her up to the core.”

Stamos further alleged that Loughlin, who played his TV wife on Full House and Fuller House for years, was “an angel” who “always made things better” for her spouse.

“She cleaned everything up,” Stamos said.

TMZ reports Giannulli had no comment about Stamos’ allegations. Us Weekly has reached out to Giannulli’s lawyer.
